A world, almost completely devoid of all life. Skeletal trees, jagged rocks, deep crevasses, large mushrooms, and a deep, overwhelming sense of gloom blanketed the landscape. What little plant life there was; tall grass, sparse shrubbery and large trees, all seemed to flicker in and out of existence.
Even the Pokemon they found here were mostly alien; Almost like the ones back in their Dimension, but... not quite exactly. His entourage were perturbed by the sight, but Giovanni thought otherwise.
It was clear this was no natural state of things; something made it devoid of life.
As Giovanni walked forwards into the endless penumbra of this world, his followers close behind, none of them could help being watched; not just by the alien Pokemon that lived there, but by something much stronger... something hungry. As they ventured towards the center of this strange dimension, that feeling only intensified- like approaching the top of an active volcano.
And at last, they find it.
A titanic, serpent-like creature. Its entirety was obscured by the dark clouds from below, but one could surmise it stretched on for miles. It loomed over the area with a presiding gaze... a hungry gaze.
For this was Dragalisk; Prisoner and God of the Xenoverse.
Giovanni and Dragalisk both glared directly at one another; gauging their newfound rivals' strengths and weaknesses... no doubt the eggheads back at base were trying to use their biometric suits to analyze this data themselves.
"...you are truly a magnificent specimen." He'd comment, lifting the ball for his beloved Persian; his Grunts following suit with their own Pokemon.
"...but make no mistake. All Pokemon exist for the sole purpose of Team Rocket, and you are no exception."

"Come out, Nidoking! Let's use its own energy against it, shall we!? DYNAMAX!"
Out came the Drill Pokemon, and from the Sync Stones Ultimate that Giovanni had accrued from Pasio, their energies filtered into the Poison-Type, and caused it to grow, and grow, until it became roughly the same size as the Dragalisk.
Big Mistake.
Dragalisk saw this enemy and its maw opened wider in anticipation; completely enthralled with this energy! Immediately, its immense coils shot forwards to prevent the Dynamax Pokemon from moving, and then...
SLASH!
The Nidoking roared out in pain, as the tip of the Dragalisk's tail, sharp as a spear, dug straight into the Nidoking's softer belly, right between its natural plating, where it was weakest!
The energy from the Dynamax would immediately break, the red energy being siphoned from the Drill Pokemon, and in through the tail of the colossal serpentine beast. That's the stuff- More... MORE!!!
Giovanni could barely even believe his own eyes. They couldn't even HIT this thing!? It was far too fast, far too large to even feel like they were leaving a dent!

Panic was spreading back at the base. Equipment was beginning to fail, engines overloading trying to bear with the stress of having the explorers gone for so long... and the stress of trying to observe something that should have remained lost.

It had to keep up the pressure, but there was just as much of it emanating from the colossal beast- it was like the entirety of space-time was freezing around the monstrosity!
One hit, and everything would end.
Dodge, weave, hit. Dodge, weave, hit. Whittling it down bit by bit to weaken it. This was the most defensive that Mewtwo had ever been for a long time- ever since facing that child back in Alola.

The Classy Cat landed without much a sound, eyes glaring towards the large serpentine creature in front of them. The Rocket Grunts by his side would send out their own various Pokemon, and engage in combat.

"...I've never seen energy readings like this before." One of the grunts stated. "It's like... the entirety of this world's energy is in that thing."
"Don't tell me you're losin' faith in th' Boss, are ya? He's got all those strong Pokemon we've got from previous experiments. He'll be fiiiiine-"
Alarm bells. It was not fine.
"Shit! Get us a visual! GET US A VISUAL!"
The Scientists raced to try and get Giovanni's bodycam set, and once active, it was staggering.

Giovanni was losing.
Persian got wiped out by a single Earthquake, as did his Rhydon. Guzzlord got completely demolished by a Freeze Dry, so now it was time to let out the big guns; time to fight a titan with a titan.
"Come out, Nidoking! Let's use its own energy against it, shall we!? DYNAMAX!"
Out came the Drill Pokemon, and from the Sync Stones Ultimate that Giovanni had accrued from Pasio, their energies filtered into the Poison-Type, and caused it to grow, and grow, until it became roughly the same size as the Dragalisk.
Big Mistake.
Dragalisk saw this enemy and its maw opened wider in anticipation; completely enthralled with this energy! Immediately, its immense coils shot forwards to prevent the Dynamax Pokemon from moving, and then...
SLASH!
The Nidoking roared out in pain, as the tip of the Dragalisk's tail, sharp as a spear, dug straight into the Nidoking's softer belly, right between its natural plating, where it was weakest!
The energy from the Dynamax would immediately break, the red energy being siphoned from the Drill Pokemon, and in through the tail of the colossal serpentine beast. That's the stuff- More... MORE!!!
Giovanni could barely even believe his own eyes. They couldn't even HIT this thing!? It was far too fast, far too large to even feel like they were leaving a dent!

Panic was spreading back at the base. Equipment was beginning to fail, engines overloading trying to bear with the stress of having the explorers gone for so long... and the stress of trying to observe something that should have remained lost.
"Giovanni, sir; get out of there!! The energy levels of that thing are off the charts! Evacuate! I repeat; EVACUATE!!"

Of course, he wouldn't listen. He's come too far to give up here. Either it will be subjugated... or it will be DESTROYED.
Without another word, he sent out his ace in the hole.
The most Powerful synthetic Pokemon in existence; Mewtwo.
The other Grunts had been defeated soundly, both of them cowering in fear at the titanic being before them... but not Giovanni. His will was overwhelming- so much so that it was mirrored within his final asset.
To prove that he was the Strongest Pokemon Trainer.
To prove that it was the Strongest Pokemon ever designed.
Immediately, wordlessly, the Mewtwo began its onslaught. Firing off Aura Sphere after Aura Sphere at the creature! Each of the blasts connect, causing it to reel backwards slightly in pain.
If it bleeds, it can be killed.
It had to keep up the pressure, but there was just as much of it emanating from the colossal beast- it was like the entirety of space-time was freezing around the monstrosity!
One hit, and everything would end.
Dodge, weave, hit. Dodge, weave, hit. Whittling it down bit by bit to weaken it. This was the most defensive that Mewtwo had ever been for a long time- ever since facing that child back in Alola.
It knew why Giovanni was not allowing it to Mega Evolve- the Nidoking couldn't even get a hit in edgewise before its Dynamax energy was stolen; it couldn't risk the same fate of its Mega Energy being stolen either.
And just when victory seemed close... The Mewtwo would soon be caught off-guard by a swatting motion, sending it careening right to the base of Giovanni's feet.
Damn it- how could it not see that coming!?
It struggled, gasping for air against the rising pressure, desperately trying to get up from its downed position.
It's not going to die here-!
But the Prisoner was done playing games. It opened its maw... and a chilling cyan light billowed from it.
"GYAAHORAAAH!!!"
DRAGALISK USED VOID STAR!
This was it. This was how he would Die.
Not living to old age in solitude. Not rotting in a jail cell. Not achieving his goals of complete universal domination.
But to know that victory was so close, but ultimately doomed...
By tampering with forces he did not understand.

"GIOVANNI! SIR, DO YOU COPY!? GIOVANNI!!"
Machines were bursting. Alarms were ringing into overdrive. The portal had long since destabilized. With one last explosion to the generators, the lights to the base all went out, before being bathed in red with the emergency power.
"...I don't believe it. The boss... he lost? That easy?"
The Grunts looked disparaged; not since that child stopped them in the Goldenrod Radio Tower, or that other child in Saffron, had they been so thoroughly defeated. Giovanni's Mantra of "Team Rocket shall never Fall" had been soundly proven false.
And thus, the group disbands, in silence... this time, for good.

Three years later, a man would be out and about on a moonless night. He had just gotten off a call with two people; one a woman, the other a police officer.
The woman had told him that she was finally pregnant.
The police had told him of their condolences for his missing father... but they would never be able to find him.
That man, would be known as Versil.
No, that was but an alias, given to him by Looker... his real name, Silver.
Versil and his wife had moved to the Eldiw region years ago to keep themselves safe from the harassment of any lingering Rocket Members, but, ever since the disappearance of Giovanni, what worried him more was what could have caused such a thing-
But his worries were quickly put on the sidelines, as he felt an icy presence linger nearby- before a lilac and purple dart shot before him and onto the ground.
It was... Giovanni's Mewtwo!?
"M-Mewtwo!?" He'd gasp, running over to go try and help it. It was critically injured, but from what!? And why did it come here of all places?! Thinking quickly, he'd move to pull out his cell.
"Viktor, this is Versil- I need a stasis pod-- NOW!!"
...I'm gonna experiment; I want to try and peck at some new things to get my creativity flowing again, since a break hasn't yet done me much good. Maybe that'll help get something going. Reintroduce an extremely old OC that I've had for over a decade.

I honestly think I've lost all will and motivation to write.
It's not anybody's fault, truly- I've been known to be completely forgetful on threads; to get caught up into new hyperfixations, but when that doesn't happen and others of my friends are, I sometimes really just... feel left behind.
From the bottom of my gut, I've always felt that everyone else has better writing potential than I've ever had. Better story ideas, better characters on both good and evil sides, better plot directions; or, in a sense, that I sometimes feel like I'm being downplayed because of it.
Like "Oh no, it's X Villain, what cryptic nonsense are they doing now that just serves to mildly inconvenience me. 🙄"
Or "Oh no, it's Y Villain... anyway here's my villain that makes them look like Sister Teresa in comparison."
Again- not targeted at anyone- these've just been thoughts that I've been having for... well, for years at this point.
I used to love writing, love making stories that others talk about so readily. But... I just don't love it like I used to anymore. I want to keep doing it, believe me!! But... I dunno.
Maybe some time away will help me get my head on straight. I hope y'all have a good day otherwise.

Gym Leader Aenon
Pokemon Type: Water
Location: Humialu City (Temporary), Shining Shore (Zenturia, permanent)
Aenon's Gym Challenge is quite complex; having to divert different river and waterfall flows to Surf to where you need to go. Often, these ways to divert River Flow are simple with a lever, or more complicated, and have to use Strength Boulders and Rock Smash Rocks to either close streams off or create new ones, respectively. Be careful; too much flow will cause some rivers to become rapid, and likely force you to where you don't want to go!
Aenon will use his Toxotreme as his Ace, along with a Milotic, Swampert, Empoleon, Wailord, and Lanturn.
For winning the battle, You will receive the Changing Tides Badge, along with the TM for Scald.

Twin Leaders Andrea & Tomo
Pokemon Type: Ghost
Location: Thorne Manor in Uplyria
Explore through the Thornes' Manor, which as would any haunted manor, is swarming with Ghost-Type Pokemon. In certain places, Dusclops guards will be watching, and will teleport the Challenger to the start of the room. Through the entire manor you must find several keys- each one leading to the Next- and the final one, the Ballroom Key, leads directly to the Gym Battle room. Their maid, Mairi, will only give vague hints as to where each of the keys lay, and only after you battle her.
Andrea and Tomo give a Double Battle, and have a Dragapult, Doublade, Mega Banette, Mimikyu, Cursola, and Chandelure.
Andrea and Tomo give out the Afterlife Badge, plus the TM for Shadow Claw.

Ice Princess Noelle
Pokemon Type: Ice
Location: Beryl Library- Beryl Ward- Reborn City, Reborn
Be prepared to tax your brain on one of the hardest Ice-Sliding Puzzles known to man. Beryl Library has been repurposed as a Gym, following after its reconstruction, and after getting permission from the Gothitelle that runs the place.
Featuring a combination of Ice Sliding with shoving piles of snow into place, shattering icy rocks with Rock Smash, and numerous Snom to reset puzzles, it's a tax on both your mind and your survivability in a frozen-over landscape such as hers. Once you free yourself from the puzzles, you will enter Noelle's Repository; a nice welcome warm room compared to out in the cold, so you can warm up and challenge her proper... but you have to go back out in the cold area to do so.
Noelle's team is a Cryogonal, Galarian Darmanitan, Eiscue, Frosmoth, Beartic, and Mega Froslass. Her battles take place on the Icy Field.
Noelle gives the Flashfreeze Badge upon victory, and gives the TM for Frost Breath.

Gym Leader Morgan
Pokemon Type: Water
Location: Sunkairo City in Uplyria
Morgan's Gym is rather unusual; instead of a normal puzzle or a gauntlet, he instead lets challengers Fish for Pokemon! Certain Fish Pokemon will have Rings attached to them; fish them out and take the ring, then release the Pokemon. Once all five Rings are acquired from all five fishing spots, put them in a certain sequence to unlock the final door, which leads to Morgan himself.
Morgan's team consists of Seaking, Sharpedo, and Mega Gyarados.
Morgan gives out the Lure Badge, and gives the TM for Water Pulse.
This... is very complicated; mixing up her usual routine with her stint as Team Meteor's Admin.
Terra will run various live-action simulations, based entirely upon various other events happening in Pokemon's History (Namely, Red fighting Giovanni during the Gym Battle, going through Cinnabar Manor, fighting Mewtwo), all of which is done on the Glitch Field. If the player survives, then they are allowed to challenge Terra.
Her team consists of Nidoking, Garchomp, Quagsire, Palossand, Excadrill, and Hippowdon. She is fought randomly on either the Glitch Field or the Big Top Arena.
She gives out the Gravity Badge, plus the TM for Bulldoze.
"I mean, to be fair, it is difficult for most people to manage eight to twelve other people." This is one of the few things about being the heir to the Devon corporation that he can appreciate.
"Although I will say, Wattson has enough energy that him being alive is no surprise. It's a bit harder to tell with Drake."
"...not to make this a competition, but try managing TEN extra people in that mess, and doubling it at the very least. We have Required Gyms for every Type in Reborn, and the doubling is for their Reserves- our hiring process is very picky so we usually hire a Reserve Leader in case something happens to the Main Leader- whether through retirement or... other reasons. I'm still trying to find a replacement Leader for the Water-Type so Amaria can seek therapy."
When you become Champion, they never tell you how much paperwork was behind it all.
"Besides worrying about the people in my League, I still have to worry about my Region as a whole, too. The Byxbysion Project is still going super slow; not to mention I'm trying to increase affordable housing for people who've been living on the streets during my regular Trainer days."
