Fish-shaped interlocking paving stones.
but above all, one must not concern oneself with the opinions of people who censor the word fuck
I need my weird alone time or I will explode
I started using Head and Shoulders ten years ago for itchy scalp and dandruff, and then for ten years I have not had itchy scalp and dandruff, so I thought “why do I still buy shampoo to combat itchy scalp and dandruff when I do not have itchy scalp and dandruff,” so I stopped buying the shampoo for itchy scalp and dandruff and can you guess I have now? Can you predict what currently afflicts me? It’s alright if you can’t because apparently I fuckin couldn’t either
Cutting something out of your life because you think you don’t need it any more only to realize that it was in fact working as intended and preventing a problem that will return should you stop doing this is a good experiment to run periodically with something small like dandruff shampoo, lest you start to think it would be a good idea to do this with like let’s say public health and the social safety net and vaccines
I had a liver transplant when I was 14 and like six months later I was chatting with my surgeon and he said “there’s gonna come a time, probably when you’re a teenager, where you’re gonna think, ‘I feel great, why am I still taking all this medication? I haven’t needed it in years.’ and you’re gonna want to stop taking all this medication. Guess what’s gonna happen then? You’re gonna go into rejection and your liver is gonna start failing, and you’re gonna be dying again, and we’re gonna have to find you another liver. So don’t do that.” And I said “why the fuck would anyone do that?” and he said “people are stupid.”
every once in a while when I get annoyed by a pharmacy or don’t wanna get out of bed to do my drugs I think “ugh, this is dumb, why do I do this?” and that conversation slams into me like a truck and I remember that I am, in fact, stupid
#you are not immune to the recency bias(via@arrows-for-pens)
Every person on earth needs to read this post. It will make people’s lives a lot better and lessen the crises everyone faces in day-to-day lives.
I reblog this every time I see it because I am not immune to the recency bias

This is so cute. A garden based on The Wizard of Oz.

In case anyone finds it helpful because mobility aids are horrifically expensive and inaccessible…
And for those people who have access to mobility devices but might benefit from a second chair they can abuse without risking expensive damage…
Erik Kondo has made a website, Open Source Innovations, that details plans for DIY wheelchairs. These wheelchairs can be made from common materials like wood, plastic, and pvc. They are lightweight and can be custom fit to the user allowing from the same degree of movement you would get from a custom chair. And they are durable and easily repairable. (he has been stress testing his latest design by dropping it down stairs, dropping it out of a car, launching it across a driveway, and throwing it off a deck). Its 12lbs and I think he said its was in the $200 ish range for parts.
He also is working on cheap, open source, accessible designs for beach chairs, off road chairs, motorized attachments (think smart drive), and so on. Plus he skateboards in his wheelchair. Cool dude, helpful info, pass it on.
It's incredibly sad people have to resort to this, but it's a damn good resource. Use it. Spread awareness. Maybe one day people with physical disabilities won't need DIYs like this. But until then, reblog and share.
This is Accessibility!
That's so amazing! It is unfortunate that so many people will need this, but very very cool that it exists
That other link seems to be broken.
Thank you so much for putting the working one!
I will add it to my original reblog as well.
David Cleary!
i'm in Ireland and the search for that bastards name is still blocked and hidden... the legnths the british go to defend and protect their instruments of colonialism and violence is beyond belief. no justice for the victims and yet every measure taken to protect David James Cleary and his fellow murderers.
Never a better time for the Streisand Effect than when it's a government covering up acts of brutality and evil.
if you complain about the Chinese government covering up Tianamen Square, then complain about this, too.
The garden is kicking out produce in a big way, y'all!
supersweet 100s, orange sunshine, cherokee carbon, persimmon, and heatmaster tomatoes - jalapeno, aleppo, hungarian wax, hungarian cheese, and jimmy nardello peppers, - some blueberries - ground cherries - volunteer zinnias
Gonna be a good year down in our plot
Did a bit of gardening - not as much as I wanted to get done, but as much as I had the energy for!
Here's where I started:
I moved an agapanthus from the back to another spot where it'd be with a bunch of other agapanthus, and then planted 2 varieties of Cape Honeysuckle (Tecoma capensis) there. I'm a bit nervous they won't get a lot of sun, but I looked at some old photos and this spot does get afternoon sunlight. I planted it here in the hopes it'll get tall enough to hide the street sign you can see over the wall behind it, and if it could just get tall enough in this spot then it'll get plenty of sun all year!
The other plants I planted were 2 Veronica sect. Hebe, which will look like this when it grows bigger:
and 3 Falkia repens, which look like this when they get bigger:
Then in another spot in the garden:
The before photo here is from the end of May, and I moved the clivias to another spot in the garden between then and now.
So what I planted today was a confetti bush (Coleonema pulchellum), which is quite small but they can get really big and bushy:
And then planted 5 stocks (Matthiola incana), and web searches on this one is confusing cause it's an annual, short-lived perennial, or biennial, just depending on the kind of climate you live in, so I'm just going to have to see what happens, I guess. And one site says it's a full sun plant, the other says only let it have 3 hours of sun or only morning sun or else it won't flower, so like. Yeah guess we'll see what happens.
I have one other flower I planted here but I did not save it's name anywhere so ✨mystery plant✨
I also rearranged the rocks along the edge of the flower bed, and it sucks working in this part of the garden cause there's just ants everywhere, so moving the rocks meant dealing with so many ants.
And then I planted this part of the garden 2 weeks ago, and I added 2 more Cobra lily (Chasmanthe aethiopica) against the wall.
There's still a few more plants I need to plant in shady spots, but I just didn't have the energy to get to them today. And I still also want to take the rocks out and put them in more neatly in a bunch of areas in the garden, as well as just making some of the flower beds bigger in some spots.
Fingers crossed these plants do well!
