Hello,
I’m not usually someone who posts anything herself, but right now my dog, Shaw. Was ran over by a pickup truck. She won’t die luckily, but she needs a huge surgery in order to walk normally, and especially run again
She’s only just about to reach 3 years old, and we want what’s best for her, so my dad and I are trying to raise some money on a go fund me
We don’t expect the reach the record, but anything helps. Including just signal boosting this
Friends and family, while out for our evening walk my baby girl Shaw was run over by a pickup. She is ali… Will Lally needs your support fo
Craft Club #2 is up over on The Shrieking Wizard Co. Youtube channel now! https://youtu.be/75vF5L75Fwk
Are you all alright now in these trying times?
We’re safe! A few of us have underlying health conditions, so we’d like to urge everyone reading this to stay at home if you are able, and to regularly wash your hands. At the time of writing, the UK is not yet in quarantine, but we can feel that creeping towards us. With it comes some more uncertainty for us: 5 of the 6 of us that make up The Shrieking Wizard Co. are about to become unemployed (in no small part thanks to the virus) and with not much chance to find other work. This has upsides and downsides! Quarantine is the best time for us to work on High Hopes Low Rolls, for sure - but we’ll be relying more heavily on what we can earn from SW for the foreseeable future. The plan has always been for us to move into The Shrieking Wizard Co. full time, but this pandemic has advanced that timetable by a year (if we’re being generous) and so we’re feeling a little nervous.
If you’d like to help us out in this extraordinary time, there’s a couple of ways you can do that:
If you can spare a few bucks a month, you can join us over on Patreon, and get to see a whole bunch of behind the scenes and extra content, including character colour palettes, new frames and our D&D kits: https://www.patreon.com/shriekingwizard
Become a patron of The Shrieking Wizard Co. today: Read 45 posts by The Shrieking Wizard Co. and get access to exclusive
You can help us and Larten Turtlefin (who plays the glorious Ryce Wyne) by buying his song ‘You’re Gone’ from Bandcamp: https://bit.ly/3ba9di9 Bandcamp are dropping their platform fees between 12am PST Friday 20th of March and 12am the 21st, so every penny you spend on ‘You’re Gone’ will go directly to us.
You can get some neat merch through our Redbubble - everything from stickers to prints: ShriekingWizard.redbubble.com
ShriekingWizard is an independent artist creating amazing designs for great products such as t-shirts, stickers, posters, and phone cases.
If you can’t spare any coin, we get it. You can still help us out - stream the High Hopes Low Rolls soundtrack by Oliver Moore on Spotify: https://spoti.fi/2UpC8s1

Head on over to our Youtube channel - we could use your views more than ever. If you could share one of our videos with two people, that would make a huge impact: https://youtu.be/sF9lIQFhHQo
This is a tough time for us all, and so we’ll be hanging out in the community Discord server (https://discord.gg/7aCpArF) to chat if you need social interaction and we’ve got some plans for community events and games over the next couple of weeks.
Check out the High Hopes Low Rolls community on Discord - hang out with 984 other members and enjoy free voice and text chat.
The only way out is through and through is easier together.

We’re back again, answering more of your questions in another episode of Tabletop Talk!
How many questions did we answer this episode? Three? We do our best to answer your questions but mostly just ramble all things High Hopes Low Rolls.
First episode of Shrieking Wizard Craft Club! https://youtu.be/NgrLerJ3OkI
Scientists invented fabric that makes electricity from motion and sunlight. To create the fabric, researchers at Georgia Tech wove together solar cell fibers with materials that generate power from movement. It could be used in “tents, curtains, or wearable garments,” meaning we’d virtually never be without power. Source
Y'all are fucking idiots. Clean energy will NEVER be enough to replace the energy we have now. We’d have to tear down DOZENS of forests just to fit enough windmills and solar panels to get even a QUARTER (probably less, tbh) of the energy we can produce now.
Yeah, sure, when they’ve already calculated that a few square miles of panels in the empty ass Arizona desert could power the whole nation. But ok, fracking and the diminishing petroleum supply is worlds better.
Nevermind that windmills are often most efficient off the coast. There they take up no land, impact no trees, don’t pollute the water, and are conveniently located where winds are often strongest anyway.
And solar panels can literally be built into roofs of buildings and in empty areas like deserts. The sun strikes the Earth with the same amount of energy in an hour that our civilization uses in a year.
But yeah, it would be impossible for us to ever have enough energy from clean sources.
Durr hurr technology is bad and I would rather light shit on fire than have clean energy
I can also testify to the Arizona desert being empty ass. And the California desert. And the Nevada desert.
also…no forests were cleared to make space for Denmark’s windmills and yet they regularly produce so much power that it covers almost all of the country’s power needs. Oh, and then there’s the times when the windmills generate 140% of Denmark’s power needs. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2015/jul/10/denmark-wind-windfarm-power-exceed-electricity-demand
Friendly reminder that oil pipelines are a scam.
The fact that anyone can believe a limited amount of dinosaur oil is more plentiful and efficient than moving air or fucking sunlight is proof that entire populations can be completely brainwashed.
And don’t forget wave and geothermal power.
The best place to install solar? Parking lots! Here’s the Community Mercantile in LFK:
Not only can it supply almost all the power needed for stores that build these, it also reduces ambient heating from the roasting pavement and keeps cars covered from the elements.
Everyone wins!
The ways we can produce sustainable, renewable energy grow by the year. There is zero reason to keep maintaining oil and natural gas industries!
The only reason we still use fossil fuels is that rich people are selfish.
The bushfires in Australia are so alarming and upsetting, all these poor people and animals are losing their homes and sometimes their lives. More needs to be done to help them. ❤️
It’s Thank You Patron day and we really want to share how much we appreciate our Patrons! If you’re one of our Patrons we have a special thank you post over on our Patreon page. Our Patrons are so important to us because not only do they give us the motivation to work really hard, this project would not be possible without them! So from everyone at The Shrieking Wizard Co and the members of High Hopes Low Rolls, Thank You Patrons!!

I’ve noticed there are fewer butterflies just in the past few years.
Also bees. There aren’t as many bees.
Also far fewer fireflies.
seriously!!!
Used to be even 10-15 years ago there would be patches of sidewalk next to gardens that sometimes you couldn’t walk on once in a while because they were just covered in butterflies sunning themselves between trips to the flowers.
Like there were times I would walk past some spots and it’d be like a movie with this wave of small butterflies that would fly up, disturbed by my passing.
Used to see lots of fireflies, too.
Now it’s a rare treat to see multiple butterflies at once, and lightning bugs are much fewer and far between.
It’s sad.
Y’know what’s funny?
I’m a grassland ecologist. I am intimately familiar with the collapse of insect populations – part of my earliest research was on the impact of insect population declines on grassland birds (it’s bad, fam).
But I never connected the way I can now drive ten hours across the prairies without needing to clean my windshield with said declines until I sat in on a native bees workshop last week, and the speaker pointed out the change.
So you know. That’s concerning. I drove across Canada last fall and just realized that I only had to stop and clean the windshield once.
If you want to help, here are some things you can do for bugs in general:
- The Xerces Society is a primarily US-based non-profit dedicated to conserving invertebrates; they support research, and run a lot of public outreach events, including seminars and citizen science projects. They could use your dollars or your time.
- get involved with your local naturalist or conservation society; there are a heck-ton of these that are often linked to specific areas or watersheds, and they can always use help (in AB there’s the Alberta Native Bee Council, for example)
- cut out pesticides in your garden; a significant part of this decline is related to the fact that pesticides kill indiscriminately, and have a tendency to travel long distances from the point of application
- plant native species; insects (especially butterflies and other pollinators) are often specialized on native species for food or shelter, and without these native species they don’t do as well even if they can use another non-native plant
- if at all possible, reduce or eliminate lawn space; in ecological terms, well-kept grass lawns are only slightly better than concrete - they don’t provide habitat or food to most species. if you absolutely have to have a lawn, see if you can swap it for another ground-cover (preferably a native species). if you have to have a lawn-lawn, leave it as long as you’re allowed - longer grass at least provides habitat for some species (especially leave it long as you go into winter and wait as long as you can to cut in the spring - overwintering habitat is critical).
- if you can, don’t rake up your fall leaves. If you have to rake them up, store them in open bags or spread them on flower beds until spring - lots of baby bugs spend the winter under those leaves.
- build a bug hotel; if you’re in a cold climate (like Canada), make sure it’s at least 8-12″ deep so that things can overwinter.
The Story Continues…
Thanks as ever for all of your patience and support while waiting for the next installment of “The Story of High Hopes Low Rolls”!
After a TON of hard work from all of us at the Shrieking Wizard Co, Chapter 1 is set to go live next week!!
Hope you’ll look forward to it~ 🎲

It's coming!! 😍
I've been working on a poster of the whole crew for a while, but it's taking me a long time to get round to finishing it! I'm really proud of this drawing of Mina so I thought I'd share it as a sneak peak of the finished product! I also tweaked it to show Minas support of pride, and in particular her own team, pansexuality. (I know I'm a little late on the pride front, but better late than never! 😊) #highhopeslowrolls #dnd #d&d #dungeonsanddragons #monk #airgenasi #sweetheart #kindness #pride #pansexual #pansexuality #digitalart #colourful #minaflocus https://www.instagram.com/p/BzXl3j0hMaT/?igshid=jwdqg919xuno
