“Well you’re a Ruby, Ritzy.  It doesn’t surprise me.. you guys can just heat yourself up, right?”  The tiny gem snickered, then gave Ritzy a warm embrace of her own.

“You know, I’m you’re favorite though~” Ritzy purred softly, nuzzling Black Star’s head after the small kiss to her nose. Little moments like this… She loved them. Never did she ever think she’d have someone like this- have moments like this? Through the years she saw hundreds upon hundreds of humans with ‘this’ … She sighed with content, “And if we are being honest… You are MY favorite Gem~ I feel so comfortable around you- No guard whatsoever. You really are something special to me, you know? Sometimes I wonder…” She paused, biting her lip, “… I wonder if we would be compatible still if we… Fused? I’m sorry if that sounds silly…"

“Oh my, aren’t you cute… Say, you live around here?” Posh Pop approaches Steven with high curiosity, kneeling down to eye-level with the small boy. Having just arrived to this quaint little city… The huge fusion of Rubies was now… rather lost!

“Mind tellin’ us where we are, darling? Or perhaps showin’ us around a bit? Such an ADORABLE little city… It’s almost tragic we cannot stay long!” She inquired dramatically, rather imposingly, a bad habit she possessed, unfortunately.

‘Woah, a giant woman!’  Thought the child as the large Ruby fusion introduced herself.  But as soon as his excitement came, it left as Steven started to feel apprehension.  The last time he saw a Ruby fusion, he had been pulled out into space and nearly died.

“Ah, you’re in Beach City!  Um.. just wondering, were you.. sent here from Homeworld by chance?”  Steven asked, wanting to make sure these Rubies weren’t going to be a repeat of the ones he played baseball with.

‘Oh no... he seems apprehensive!’ She thought to herself, it honestly worried her... But upon hearing his next words, the mention of Homeworld... She understood. Quickly retaliating to make sure he knew she meant no harm to him, or his city... Or anyone, for that matter. And if there’s one thing she loved... It was talking about herself. She offers him a kind smile,

“No, no, darling... No need to worry about me! No one sent me, or us- Or anybody! We’re just passin’ through!”

She let out a soft giggle, “My name is Posh Pop... Of course we are all rubies, but we have been living on this planet for over 4,000 years, can you believe it!? We gave names to ourselves... Wanting to truly fit in here.” She clasped her hands together with excitement, “Actually... I’ll let you in on a little secret...” Posh whispered, leaning in, and making sure no one else could hear her, “...We are traveling to Empire City to perform~ We call ourselves The Roundhouse Rubies~ We go where the music goes, honey~” She pulls back with an excited grin, “I’m sure you must have a name, too, hmmm?~”

“Actually… Yes.” 

Plum Pom answered bluntly, trying not to sound too hostile, herself. She was always a bit guarded around new gems… “My sisters and I… We’re looking for a place to stay? Just for a day or so… Until we have to move again.” She bites her lip, almost regretting her decision to ask for shelter this time around, “Is there.. Maybe a place we could use around here?”

Shelter? Well, the barn did have a bit of space to it still, despite the various morps made and other clutter filling it.

Lapis wanted to just go out and say ‘no’ , refuse her and her sisters right away. But, Steven would probably be a bit disappointed if she did that, Peridot too maybe. “That depends,” she said slowly, “on why you’re here, on this planet. I can’t give you shelter if you’re presence is some kind of threat.”

Taking a deep breath, Plum offers a kind smile... She wanted to get on this gem’s good side if they were to stay out of the storm tonight. It wasn’t like they were Homeworld Gems... This shouldn’t be too hard, right...?

“You don’t have to worry, we aren’t threats of any kind... We have LIVED here for 4,000 years. We travel, we’re performers. My name is Plum Pom, my sisters have chosen names, too... Hmm.. And honestly, do I look like a Homeworld Gem?”

“I wish I could go with you wherever to, but I can’t leave my kitties behind.”  Black Star admitted, letting out a quiet sigh as a small frown formed on her lips.  As soon as she felt arms wrap around her waist, the smile quickly turned into a smile, her pale cheeks blushing a dark grey.  “Yeah.. I am pretty adorable aren’t I?”

“Only the most adorable Gem I’ve ever met~” Ritzy giggled softly, pulling Black Star so she sat upon her lap. “You have no idea how much I talk about you to the girls... Sometimes they tease me about it. You really are something special, you’re my Star~” She blushed at her own corniness, yet she loved being sappy with her girlfriend. “I do understand not being able to leave your kitties, I wouldn’t be able to leave my sisters for too long, myself...”

Oh. Great. Another Ruby. It’s as though she didn’t have to deal with the gemtype enough from Navy and her team. “Is there something I can help you with?” Lapis asked, forcing herself to try and not appear hostile.

“Maybe so.. But, that doesn’t mean you can’t! It took us 4,000 years! And many, many, many… Regenerations.” The little Gem tries to count on her fingers how many reformations she, herself had gone through. Failing so, she smiles kindly, gazing up at Pink Pearl, “You can TRY!”

“Well maybe I don’t want to try!” She yelled angrily tears rolling down her cheeks. She sniffled quickly wiping them away.  "This is where my Diamond was broken. This place has brought me nothing but misery. How could I ever like living here?”

“Oh dear... I-I’m so sorry...! I didn’t mean to upset you... Oh no...” Darling sniffled slightly, trying to fight back tears of her own. She gazed up at the broken palanquin, she too felt emotion for she and her sisters alike served Pink Diamond before she was brutally shattered.

She sighed heavily, her fixed gaze shifting to Pink Pearl, “We used to serve her too, you know... Before ‘it’ happened. Our kindergarten was here, everything was here. We’ve only seen Homeworld a few times, I can’t remember much of it now. We all still grieve, too...” It was true... They, too, once wondered how they could possibly love living here long-term.
