Learning how to be present is a process, and a lifelong one at that. Don’t expect to be perfect at it overnight. And be kind to yourself when you make mistakes along the way.
Fun fact: admitting that all of your alters are parts of one whole is a huge step of recovery, and does not mean that any of your alters lose their personhood. It just means you’re acknowledging that you’re all parts of a whole.
