MD: We conceived General Iroh as a young, swashbuckling hero. He is the youngest general in United Forces history and is very close with his grandfather, Lord Zuko. As a way to honor that family history, we asked Dante Basco, the actor who played Zuko, to voice the role. Concepts by Il-Kwang Kim.

I’m excited to share with you all “Legacy”- the newest entry in my personal tribute to the timeless & marvelous “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “The Legend of Korra” series! I finally found some free time this year to rewatch the series and then dive into reading the Dark Horse comics for the very first time ever. I am now all caught up and have a newfound affection for the lore, all thanks to the high talents of Mike DiMartino, Bryan Konietzko, and every other brilliant mind that has contributed to the Avatar series. A big thank you to each of them, as well as a big thanks to all of you for your continued support!

Y’ALL…so we know that asami owns a gold hair clip that she wears with her formal outfits in books 1 and 2.

BUT in book 3…

asami uses an incredibly fancy gold clip (that doesn’t match anything korra owns) when she’s doing korra’s hair. asami knew korra was about to leave and gave her her own hair clip so that a piece of asami would be able to be with korra…literally the softest thing ever
