OH MY GOD OKAY BUT WHAT THE FVCK WAS SPY X FAMILY CHAPTER 124??? like, how does endo keep doing this?? how does he make a chapter about test papers feel like a full-on political conspiracy thriller with ghosts, corruption, and emotional devastation all at once 😭😭

so okay, let’s talk about this because i'm not doing fine.

first of all: HENDERSON. my man. my elegant icon. he’s literally accused of selling exam papers??? like WHAT??? he’d rather die in a pool of tea than do something that inelegant 😭💀

and the wildest part? he’s not even fired, he’s just resigning himself because of some stupid rumours. the man’s like “if my existence sullies the school’s reputation, I’ll step down.” sir no!! YOU are the only thing keeping that pretentious institution from collapsing into moral decay!! 😭

like you can literally feel how tired he is (just like it is emphasised in the chapter quite a few times). and then schlag comes in and gives him a tonitrus bolt (which, in any other situation, would be a punishment, but here it’s like... lowkey sweet???). and THEN she calls MARTHA to pick him up. MARTHA. and suddenly I’m crying. schlag, you redeemed yourself in one chapter. 🥹

but then. THEN.

the real criminal.

that man who began the rumour against henderson? yeah. that slime. he smells exactly like connie’s “holy water!!!” like bro. he was literally there during the haunted house thing. probably the “ghost” they saw, creeping around doing shady business. WHAT THE FUCK WAS HE DOING IN THE HAUNTED HOUSE AND WHY DOES HE WANT HENRY OUT OF HIS WAY ?!?! 😭

and THEN. we get loid’s reaction.

anya comes home with the flyer and she’s like “papa, is mr henderson a bad person??” and loid doesn’t answer. he just deflects. “what do you think, anya?”

and you can just see it in his face... he wants to say no. but his spy brain’s like, “everyone has secrets. everyone’s capable of deception.” so for a second, he actually thinks the rumour might be true.

like... it’s not about henderson anymore, is it? it’s about loid’s own worldview. the fact that even he—who knows henderson’s integrity—hesitates, because his whole life has been built on lies and betrayal. 😭

if henderson actually leaves eden i will personally storm that school and start a coup. because NO. he’s the moral backbone. the ✨elegance✨ incarnate.

the cork had softened in the sea.

the little bottle, worn and vast,

bore marks that spoke of memory.

curious little feet hopped above the shale,

curious little hands grasped the find.

the child was nearly six, and frail,

and knew not what the note defined.

she squatted low, her hair wind-tossed,

her dress hem dark with salted spray.

the gulls cried sharply, tempest-crossed,

but she thought they simply came to play.

her world was small — the shells, the foam,

the pebbles smooth and skies so wide.

the island was her only home,

its edges kissed by every tide.

she cracked the cork, and out it fell —

a slip of paper, faint as breath.

the ink had blurred, but still it spelled

a plea from one who feared her death.

“don’t go beyond the ridge at dawn,

don’t chase the gulls that call your name.

the tide will turn before you’re gone—

the sea remembers all the same.”

she laughed — the way that children do

when warned of things they cannot see.

and in her eyes, the world was new,

no hint of what her fate would be.

she placed the note between two stones,

pretending it a pirate’s map.

she hummed and built her castle thrones,

then left the bottle in her lap.

the waves crept close and murmured low,

a thousand hands that tried to reach.

the wind turned colder; still, she'd go—

beyond the ridge, beyond the beach.

and far beyond the mortal years,

where stormlight hides the sun’s decline,

her older self still sifts through tears,

trapped in that shore’s brutal brine.

she writes again, though none reply,

casts bottles through the veined blue deep;

each breaks upon that child’s bright sky,

who wakes, and plays, and falls asleep.

the sea keeps both — the young, the worn —

it binds their time in glass and foam.

for some are never truly born,

and some can never make it home.
