"Will gets captured by the military after unlocking his powers" AU I still think about u!!
reminiscing how good we had it with s4 byler lowkey
Tales from 85 is gonna end where it is revealed the entire show was just a DnD campaign.
march 22nd, through the years 🎂
"[Hopper] It'd be great if Will could help, but you keep that kid wrapped in bubble wrap."
Will + Struggling for 5 Seasons Straight (despite the bubble wrap)
Will Byers in s2 || s5
I remember they hurt me. The soldiers. They shouldn't have done that. It upset him.
Theory ⤵️
This creature eats everyone and Will saves them with his giant hammer
the way his arms flail when he runs :( I’m crushing him into fine dust and carrying him around in my pocket for the rest of my life
he's using aerodynamics to increase his gay natural speed

STRANGER THINGS 5 || Chapter Six: Escape from Camazotz back <<
A rewrite of the defeat of the Mind Flayer based on the original plan (as seen in the documentary).
Side note: all the children were rescued beforehand. Joyce is with El and Hopper in the lab saving Kali <3
I'm sorry but the fact that they only really had Joyce really caring for Will this season, downplaying how his friends react when Will is going through things far worse than his normal goosies —he is feeling like he's beign burned alive here and he wakes up from his possession looking like this — is a perfect example of this season's complete failure/worse flaw. They didn't allow those moments of just the characters being humans and friends playout/really exist. The only emotional moments had to be about driving the plot forward.
The best writing is when you can combine character development and plot development, and this season moved all the characters along on a board and only let them interact when the plot needed it, not when the characters needed it! Therefore many characters' interactions were superficial or non-existent and at worst out of character.

Tales from '85
Tales from '85 is set in the winter of 1985. That would mean it is either set in January-March '85, or December '85.
As Season 3 is set in July 1985, we know for a fact that Tales from '85 must be set January-March 1985.
Look at the characters appearances from the teaser trailer compared to season 2.
November 1984 ⤵️

El's hair is the same. She is wearing the same dungarees and jumper.
Will is wearing the same brown coat. Lucas is wearing the same jacket. Mike has the same blue hoody.
Inconsistencies⤵️
Tales from '85 is definitely set 3 months maximum after the events of The Gate. Hopper takes El's safety seriously. He would not let her hang out with her friends in broad daylight when he knows she is in danger. She isn't even supposed to go out in public in season 3 so it's a big deal when she is at the mall with Max. Mike is shocked that she is there and Steve asks if she is even allowed to be outside.
And in season 3, when Will says he can sense the Mindflayer, El says that is not possible because she closed the gate. Why does she not believe it to be possible if they encounter Upside Down monsters just months before?
One promo for Tales from '85 states that El is enjoying going out with her friends and trying french fries for the first time. Yet, we see her eat fries in the very first episode of season 1.
Then there is Nikki. A character who is new in town and bonds with El and Will but Mike doesn't like her. She seems like a person that someone would mention or acknowledge at least once considering season 3 is set at least 3 months after Tales from '85.
As this show is supposedly canon, I really cannot get my head around these inconsistencies.
This is why I am leaning towards the show actually being an alternate timeline.
I bet we are gonna get confirmation on how The Upside Down was formed and why it was stuck in 1983 in Tales from 85
He deserved these hugs...
