If you are buying secondhand recasts, you are part of the problem by keeping the circulation going. If you are only buying recasts from ‘bigger companies’, you are part of the problem. If you have a ‘neutral’ stance in this issue, you are part of the problem. If you are buying recasts from recasters other than Luo, you are still part of the problem. If you have a recast and want to go legit, you are no longer part of the problem. If you bought a recast not knowing what it was, you are not part of the problem. If you got gifted a recast by an unknowing family member, you are not part of the problem. If you are honest about owning an accidentally acquired recast, you are not part of the problem. If you are honest about having previously bought recasts but you have now gone legit, you are not part of the problem.

As with any issue in the world, both sides have extremes. There are many of us who want to fight for the artists, but will not go as far as bullying or sending death threats. That shit goes too far. There are many of us who are understanding of those who accidentally bought recasts because we have seen how recasters have taken over google searches. We understand they are the first thing you will see and we understand they are generally a lot more affordable for people. We are not scary, we just want to protect the people who have made this entire hobby possible.

@luidilovins I think the word you’re looking for is “objectified.” She’s a pin-up girl, these are obviously what we’d call ‘fanservice,’ she’s in pictures where she’s butt naked or assets are accentuated but what makes these so pleasant is that they look NATURAL. There’s a quality to them that’s not overly blatant or compromising, it feels like the artist is giving us a little wink and a “You know” instead of shoving it in our faces with zero subtlety.
