So if you were unaware I joked about making a hideo x oc ship. And you guys....

MEET HAOYU LI, BROTHER OF HUANG LI AND HUSBAND OF HIDEO

DISCLAIMER: somethings can be retconned later. But this is the main premise!!!

BASIC: Name: Haoyu li Alias: Agent Li Age: 50 Gender: male Pronouns: he/him Sexuality: gay Nationality: chinese Ethnicity: Asian

APPEARANCE: Appearance: Haoyu has long Grey hair, black eyes and usually dresses classy

here's some reference photos from his current and younger self

PERSONA: Personality: haoyu is very serious, a very no nonsense man. His discipline makes him very elegant and quite the charmer especially in his you get days. Which is how he managed to get hideo date him ;)

He however struggles with lying, as he lied to hideo all these years on his true job and stuff.

He is also very firm on the importance of family. Which is why He did not trust shadowsan at first. Nor spider lily. But he gains it later on. And he's a proud uncle to reika

LORE:

Haoyu grew up in a wealthy family in China, he was very obsessed with history and studying. Growing up with his younger brother huang li. Upon huang lis amazing success he was very proud of his brother. But also felt envy. He wanted to find his own path so he decided to travel from China and move to Argentina, huang li supported his brother's decision. The 2 did still talk but not often due to their businesses.

Haoyu was focused on history and got a history degree

A year after dexter Wolfe died acme had been created to find out about vile. One of their first employees was haoyu, whom had stumbled upon 2 agents. And was taken unconscious. He was going to be memory wiped but they decided to hire the Man

And they had pinpointed possible vile relations at Matsumoto Castle.sending haoyu to spy.

It's been 8 years since the daisho incident. And hideo hasn't taken it well. While he did mess up himself and only prioritize his reputation he still harbored resentment. Believing he was right. Which Wil obviously not slide when he meets spider lily

Haoyus job was to keep a close eye on hideo. And the daisho.

When he first went into the museum hideo was very defensive of the remaining daisho. And when haoyu asked what happened to the other daisho. Hideo refused to elaborate.

He knew he'd have to get information somehow. so he decided to apky to work at Matsumoto castle Claiming to be a new neighbor.

Hideo was in need in help And he hired haoyu

Unaware haoyu was just trying to get information

And they were colleagues… Then friends.haoyu had been building trust with hideo. And they became good friends. Both very interested in history

Though haoyu wasn't trying to create anything serious. Knowing he'd have to leave.

But he got very attached sooner or later. As they both really bonded over the same things

At some point haoyu got the truth

Hideo was having a horrible day. So he was at the bar. Haoyu was also convinently there.

He found hideo who was wasted drunk. And very emotional

Haoyu asked what's wrong. To which hideo proceeded to tell what happened with suhara.

Haoyu was stunned. He has information. But he couldn't help but comfort hideo. Genuinely feeling bad

He however did something he'd truly regret. After getting information instead of keeping it secret like hideo begged he told acme. And acme researched all about suhara.

However suhara was now shadowsan. In vile. And he had faked his death in Japan before he left. So the case was dropped. And hideo was free.

During the time of them researching about suhara haoyu was still in Japan. Getting more information.

Or he was supposed to.

Instead he had started getting attached to hideo. After hearing his story. Albeit biased point of view.

And the 2 genuinely became friends. Haoyu actually wanting this. They'd hang out daily. Drinking tea and studying together

He later started developing feelings for hideo. However he had been very nervous And hideo was quite well liked by a bunch of neighbour's so haoyu backed off

But he was truly in love with hideo.

And after a bunch of back and forth between himself he decided to confess to hideo.

Hideo meanwhile had also been having feelings for haoyu. But fearing the publics judgment he had withheld his feelings.

But the confession had put him in a place between his heart and his reputation. A genuinely conflicting thing.

He told haoyu he wasn't sure and needed to thing. And they hadn't spoken in about a week. It was. A very hard time for both.

But a week later the 2 met up at a garden. And hideo realized he hasn't been this happy ever. Haoyu makes him happy.

So…. They dated.

Now when the case was dropped chief said haoyu would have to leave hideo. However haoyu refused. And pleaded to stay.

Chief had reluctantly agreed. But whenever haoyus services were needed he'd be forced to return.

Haoyu hadn't told hideo about acme. And the secrets were kept. This would go very wrong kater

They got married about 5 years later. But chose to keep it private. Barely anyone attended the wedding. Huang li, oxtail and xifeng were all invited though!!

They were silent and happy….Acme did not need haoyu… Until the current time line.

After the events of season 2 the old married couple have been strained. Acme was in short supply. And haoyu was forced to work with them. Hiding it from hideo

Hideo was very distraught about shadowsans return. And haoyu now knew that shadowsan is suhara and he is tied to vile. However this time he didn't tell acme.

On top of this his niece Julia Argent was hired in acme. And the 2 were very close :D

Now things go wrong after the masks of Venice.

Hideo had known the truth of vile and against his better judgment told haoyu about what happened with his brother (and spider lily) unaware haoyu was trying to arrest Carmen Sandiego.

He didn't know how to tell hideo he works with acme, the law enforcement

However hideo found out at some point. He found his acme badge. And was furious.

Learning that his husband only fell in love with him for a job.

And haoyu was furious he had helped Carmen get away. And didn't believe him when he said Carmen and shadowsan are good

They argued so badly they nearly got divorced

It was a horrible time. But what helped it was haoyu decided to call Julia. Whom he knew was close with Carmen. The 2 were amazing friends. Haoyu found her to be a very smart employee. Way better then chase. Whom he loathes

Julia confirmed the truth. Carmen is good.

He was stunned. And conflicted. After finding out Carmen sandiego is good. He turned in his acme badge. Quitting.

He then returned to hideo and pleaded for them to work things out.

It had been a horrible time for the 2.and haoyu just wanted things to be okay.

Hideo decided to give him 1 chance.

And didn't regret it as they had fixed their relationship.

Post season 4 when shadowsan and spider lily had returned to Japan after defeating vile haoyu wasn't happy. He didn't like how spider lily was harsh to hideo in Venice (he heard abt it) and didn't trust shadowsan

But hideo and him argued about giving them a chance.

Eventually he decided to allow it to happen. And the 4 now became good family. When reika was adopted he became. A happy uncle :D
