The last time we checked in with Nico and Jack, they were raising a hockey team together. A year later and… drumroll PLEASE… they are raising a hockey team together IN THE PLAYOFFS, BABY! In other words, time for a primer update.

Jack and Nico ended the 2021-2022 season with huge potential–

Fast forward and the 2022-2023 season has been fire for the team – 1386 included. Henceforth are highlights from the last year of Nico and Jack being super subtle (HA!) little weirdos who are presumably still napping half the pre-game afternoon away.
In an absolutely shocking turn of events, Jack still can't STFU when it comes to Nico Hischier. Highlights from the last year:

Jack went to the All star game this season and spent like 10 minutes talking about his boyfriend captain and how he deserves to be there too but the NHL has like rules and stuff blah blah blah WHEN WILL THE NHL PAY FOR A ROMANTIC 1386 TRIP HUH?

I keep trying to not make this about Jack Hughes' ass but like, I fail. Which can be expected bc I have issues. I would apologize but I also have no shame.
Nico likes how genuine Jack is. How fun he is to play with. In fact, he loves that about him. President of the Jack Hughes Appreciation Society activated:
Nico decides Jack has the best hair on the team when Ryan Graves is legit RIGHT OVER THERE. Jack subsequently releases a hair thirst video– what came first, the Jack Hughes hair thirst video or Nico saying Jack has the best hair on the team? No one will ever know O. O (if you know, no YOU DON’T)
When people get protective, I lose my McFucking mind and Nico is very protective over Jack. Two incidents from this season that stand out are the November 18th game where Jack took a big hit and the December 15th game in which Jack was being hunted by TK from the Flyers. Nico took a big exception to that.

All the miscellaneous things from this season that are vaguely 1386 related, bulleted for ease of consumption:
Nico had an interview with NHL network. During the interview he mentioned Jack lives in the same apartment building. AND THEY WERE ROOM uh, building-mates?
FOA nap enthusiast club continues, at least for Jack. He recently mentioned how important napping is to his pregame routine.
There is a 1386 mural at the Prudential Center. Let the pilgrimages commence!

The original plan was to end the primer with a long list of hug GIFs from this season, however I have already reached max image capacity for one post because 1386 is that DISGUSTING ABOUT EACH OTHER. Like chill guys (please don't, don't ever chill). So, in lieu of 10+ hugs, have the last big one from the Playoffs. So proud ;;.
