Last day of the Veterans Day weekend. On this episode of the Create Something podcast I talk about time management and multitasking. Pop the earbuds in and take a listen.
Get My Mind Right
Focus requires a little bit of effort.
Focus does not simply happen especially if a lot of procrastination has manifested into laziness.
Focus requires some initiative. It requires being inspired. It requires calculation. It requires taking some time to figure out what is causing a state of unfocused.
Once that is figured out, then there must be a plan to prevent being unfocused.
It’s not difficult.
Once I can do this all the things I enjoy doing will become enjoyable again and I will find time to do them.
I will not use excuses and blame those around me because I will have already identified what is causing me to be unfocused and how to prevent it; as much as possible.
I will management my time effectively. I will establish a schedule to try and keep to understand how I am using my time.
I will not waste my time.
After all,
TIME WAITS FOR NO MAN!!!!
Aches and Pains
Prior to waking up in the morning the only time my body doesn't hurt is when i am laying completely flat.
As soon as I get up, my back begins to ache. My legs and thighs burn, and my foot hurts.
I sometimes wonder if it is added aches and pains because I am not as physically active as I used to be.
I used to run 2 miles in 12 - 13 minutes. I used to be able to knock out 80-100 pushups in 2 minutes and 85-110 sit-ups in 2 minutes. My 12 mile foot march used to be between 2 hrs 35 minutes to 2 hrs and 45 minutes.
This were all measures of a soldiers Army ‘fit to fight’ standards.
Now, I am as the Army says a “broke dick”. I have P2 (Permanent) profile for my back. In other words, I am not able to run on my pt test and I do not do sit-ups anymore. Recently, I got a T3 (temporary) profile which is because my back has worsened. I essentially got what is called a “dead-mans” profile. This means I can’t do anything.
No running. No Pushups. No Sit-ups. No Walking. No treadmill. No stairmaster. No Rucking. No Marching. No tactical gear. No standing for too long.
I have told my PCM mulitple times that it honestly hurts to do anything but I have to go through the process of the temporary profile first then my MEB will be initiated.
This is not what I want but I ultimately have not too many other choices.
What I do have is my wonderful morning cup of coffee.
Writing Just to Write?
If I am writing in my blog just to write then that is okay. If I am writing in my blog to say something that is equally important.
A long time ago when I Started my blog I did not want to have to feel like I was always writing posts that had to have an impact and have a strong message or meaning.
I wanted to just write.
Write the first things that came to my mind.
That is what I have been doing for quite some time now and I do not plan on stopping.
I would say because that is why I love to blog.
I write whatever is on my mind and it can be short or long; thought provoking, full of meaning or straight to the point. I can be humorous or very serious.
It is my blog and I write what I choose.
There is, however, this feeling that I have to write posts that do, in fact, make some type of impact.
I do know that people read my blog.
I guess the reasons why are what are of question.
Whatever the answer may be, I hope that in my posts I am perhaps providing whatever that person may be looking for.
I am not going to ask what that may be because, again, this is My blog.
I do not want to compromise my originality and identity to satisfy the masses. That was never my goal in the first place.
However, if I can make a concerted effort to say things that do stick to people then I think that is longer lasting and that matters most.
End of The Road
For this week I mean. The weeks always seem long when they start but then when they end they are short.
I would say that I am happy but I am anxious as ever. I have an overwhelming fear.
Of What? I don’t know.
What I do know is that when I write in my blog or spend time with my family I am at peace.
However, I can never escape my mind. My mind is always on. My heart is always beating. So this anxiety I have is always with me but it is up to me to find ways to deal with it.
This is one way that I deal with my stresses and anxieties. This or podcasting. Or even djing.
Sometimes nothing helps though.
At least the week is over and all I have to worry about is enjoying the weekend.
Yet Again
I have spent many years blogging on Blogger but yesterday I decided I would switch over to WordPress. Unfortunately, I realized that my posts won't be able to autoplay my videos I usually embed for listening pleasure while viers read. So I have decided, yet again, to try to see how my blogging shakes out via Tumblr. There are still a few reasons but the main reason is because I want a little bit of an easier method to share my blog across the bigger social media spectrum. Of course, I do like Blogger so I am not sure how much I will like Tumblr. Blogging is Blogging, I guess. Well, for now, I will let this be the first for what may be more to come or may be the only one. Happy Hump Day!
