To all the second year actors - I am so sorry that I won't be able to see Grimm or to see you all before you leave Miskin this year. I wanted to let you all know that I wish you the very best in your individual futures, whether you are going on to drama school, university or into the workplace. It has been a great pleasure and privilege to work with you during your training at Miskin and to see you all develop as people and performers. It's great to hear that Grimm Tales is a CRACKING show. Dear Amelia and Alice

Wow!!!

I am not often lost for words but ‘The Grimm Tales’ left me speechless ……for a little while at least!!

The Mayoress and I greatly enjoyed yesterday evening’s performance and consider it was one of the, if not the, best production we have seen at the College. The acting was amazing with the students obviously throwing themselves wholeheartedly into their various roles. What added to the experience of course was the ‘promenade’ staging and congratulations must also go to everyone involved in the staging and the simple logistics of moving the audience from one setting to the next.

Hopefully the exhilaration of the evening came across on the photograph that went on the Mayor’s Facebook page this morning and hopefully the publicity has given rise to some additional ticket sales because the actors deserved their efforts being given a wider audience.

Will you please pass on congratulations to everyone involved, not only the actors but everyone back-stage and front of house, for what was a fantastic evening.

There will be an end of year Prom for all miskin learners on Thursday 2nd July

Price - Tickets are £5 each (this includes buffet food and entry)

Where - The prom will be held in the Auditorium

Dress code - Smart - ball gowns, party frocks, suits and tuxedo…..dress to impress!!!!

Time - 7.30pm-11pm

There will be a prize for the most well presented individual!!

Gambling Hans and Juniper Tree image inspiration

Gambling Hans:

This Image made me think of an idea for the beginning of ‘Gambling Hans' I feel the setting of a group of men gambling, drinking and getting merry could take us into the story itself. The group of gamblers could see the story of Gambling Hans as a myth and its not until the story is told that these men become (quoted from the story) a little shard of Hans alive in gamblers today.

Juniper Tree:

I've chosen this images as I feel it could represent the bird beautifully. I feel this image could be created for the first appearance of the bird and brought to life by the entire company, I don't feel the entire company could create this throughout the story but for the first image the audience see of this creature I feel we can make this moment breathtaking. The use of the fans and the sense of ensemble make this image strong yet stunning and I feel has the potential to be visually amazing.
