Going Home | Scott

Their laughter filled the small bubble the three of them seemed to be in. It was so strange how they were themselves..they just had someone else with them now. It was almost as if nothing changed – but everything changed. It was so surreal. Walking into the parking lot with Scott and Tobias had Taylor preoccupied on the infant. Scott’s arm around her was comforting, it reminded her of home. Home..a place she’d longed for what feels like years. “Real food.” The brunette moaned softly before giving Scott a small smile. He knew her distaste for the hospital garbage they served up. She was shaking her head at his words instantly. “I can cook.” She interjected with a soft sigh. To be fair the new mom wasn’t to keen on the idea of eating take-out for the next 3 months but maybe for the first night it wouldn’t be so bad. “Maybe we can order something.” She murmured as her eyes moved down to the little feet sticking out of the carrier. Taylor’s smile widened as Scott’s lips moved to her cheek and she couldn’t have been happier than she was. “Is he?” She asked in a soft voice as Scott took the carrier from her only to place it with ease into the holster. Her expression was impressed – he’d been practicing. Her eyes fell to the infant and she couldn’t help the soft expression that covered her face. Droopy eyes and quivering little lips were clear indicators that Scott was right. “He’s so precious..” She whispered and had to stop herself from unstrapping Tobias and giving him a cuddle. Her heart started beating faster the instant Scott shut the door. Walking around to the other side of the SUV – Taylor had forgotten how high up her Audi was. She was going to argue with Scott that she could climb in by herself but she was still recovering down there. Biting into her bottom lip as she opened the door, she placed her purse on the seat. She glanced from his hand to the door and exhaled slowly. Grabbing hold of the driver’s seat and Scott’s hand Taylor hoisted herself up into the Audi. With a throbbing pain radiating as she sat on the seat she gave Scott a weak smile. “Lets go home.” She said softly as she shut the door and leaned over to look at Tobias’s sleeping face. “He’s going to have a fit when we get home and I have to wake him..” She sighed.
“Yeah.. Real f o o d.” He chuckled softly, the grin he wore widening as he gazed at her. He knew that hospital food wasn’t the best, so he wanted to make it up for her by making her the best plate of food he possibly could. It’s as she said about being able to cook in which he shook his head. He didn’t want her to do anything, he wanted her to relax, she truly needed it. “I know you’re the best cook in the world, but seriously. Let me do the job for the next couple of days. You need to r e s t, so does Tobi.” He stated, hoping she’d understand. He’d probably end up trying to impress her by making a mess in the kitchen and trying to get something that tasted decently good. Spaghetti was always the first thing that came to his mind, but perhaps it was time to try something different. He’d look for recipes once he got home, right now he had to focus on driving. “Well see, I just don’t want you to do anything right now, but maybe nap or just relax and watch some TV.” He was being fair, he hoped he was at least, but he was sure that it was what she needed. Maybe a relaxing bath as well, but he’d suggest the idea later on. Right now he knew that it was for the best to just take things slowly. Once he’d helped her up, Scott helped her to buckle her seat belt on. At her words he nodded, only to step back for her to close her door. Taking his phone out the male checked how late it was. Honestly he wished they would’ve let them out in the morning instead of at night. He wasn’t a fan of driving through the darkness, and more when he was tired. Putting his phone back into his pocket the male made his way over to the driver’s seat, quickly buckling his seatbelt on, before he started the car’s engine. “You okay?” He asked softly, one of his hands resting against the steering wheel while he reached for hers with the other, their fingers lacing together only for him to give her a small squeeze. “I’m sure he’ll fall asleep quickly once he gets home.” He said softly.
