What Would You Do? - The Dead Black Body & You
How often do you turn on the television or click on the radio or look at an article and see another person of color's life taken away through methods of police brutality? How often has their death received justice in the name of the law, even though the loss of a life can never be matched in value? How many of us can say that All Lives Matter but grow uncomfortable and/or upset when we want confirmation that the black ones matter as well? How many of us can remember the names of the innocent black lives slain instead of knowing them as "black kid that got shot" or "the lady that got killed?" How many of us can say that we can and will come to the aid of another when there is trouble? How many of us will look the other way or pretend like they didn't see anything? How many are comfortable with the realities they choose to live in and the ones they actually exist in? What would you do?
