Harris’s joint income with her husband was 450,299 for 2023. In order to not be able to make that in 30 years, you’d have to be making below 15k a year. If you’re making 15k yearly, yeah I would not encourage you to donate to any political campaign. However, if your point here is to vaguely gesture at “don’t give rich people money” Then I think I should note that the money isn’t going to Harris. It’s going to her campaign.
If you want to talk about how ridiculously expensive running campaigns are in the US, yes, I’d agree with that. The fact remains though that it costs a approximately a metric fuck ton to run a Presidential campaign, and Harris’ entire net worth (around 8million) wouldn’t be enough to run a campaign in a single state.

She’s running a presidential campaign started 5 months before Election Day, which is insane. She was already on the back foot. It takes a lot of money to get the word out- staffers, strategists, accountants, campaign managers, regional and local campaign corridors, artists, writers, organizing volunteers, rallies, buying adspace, making merch, and doing whatever the fuck it takes to get her name and face everywhere in such a short amount of time takes a lot of money. Presidential campaigns started on time take a lot of money. Presidential campaigns are expensive

Nobody would win against trump if they didn’t run a fucking campaign. This is beyond defeatist and bad faith interpretation of the stakes here.
I would agree that there are far too many trump supporters, and that this race is even close is deeply troubling. The answer is not to give up, roll over, and let a fucking fascist obtain the presidency of the United States. Is that what you think the answer is? Do you think harris is running on working at McDonalds? And being the messiah? Or do you just want an excuse to roll over and do nothing? I won’t give you that.
You do not have to like Harris or her policies or anything about her to understand that she is better than trump. If you care about yourself, your neighbors, marginalized people, or just what is morally good- you need to do whatever you can to get kamala harris in office.
