To everyone out there creating "What if Silco adopted Vi instead of Powder?" content: I see you, I respect you, I appreciate you, I adore you.

For your consideration I propose more scenarios to rotate in your noggins: Silco adopts both girls AU; Zaundads raising the girls together; Vi seeing Silco and remembering him being her uncle/godfather figure when she was younger; an au of the 2x07 alternate universe where Vi doesn't die and is just gravely injured by Hextech so everything else is the same but she's alive and happy; the Zaun family in 2x07 coping with losing Vi; AU where Zaun dads made up and raised the kids together (but not the 2x07 au) and Silco's puts an end to Vander's well-meaning but ultimately harmful parentification of Vi. So many options

Vi’s parentification is something that was clearly hurting both girls but I don’t think Vander knew how to fix it. With Vi and the boys he could use a lot of the same methods of parenting as they were all around the same age, I see Vi as 15 in act one, high school freshman age, claggor is solidly 14, either youngest in his class freshman or oldest in his class eighth grader, and Milo is either almost 14 or just 14, eighth grader, and well he clearly knows that Vi is the leader of the group he can teach her how to be an effective leader in addition to making sure he is effectively parenting all of the teens but Powder is somewhere between 9-11 or somewhere in third to fifth grade, personally I think 10 so forth grade, and that is a big age gap that means he has to adjust his parenting for just her and that is hard to do when she is also very emotional and prone to anxiety. Vi steps up to fill the roll he struggles with and since it seems to working he just keeps letting her knowing it is not a perfect fix to the issue but assuming that he would be able to fix it once Powder was a bit older

Honestly, I love the idea of a vampire who only drinks blood taken from blood banks and hospitals, because it so beautifully encompasses someone who's more concerned with the vibes of something than the actual impact of it.

Drinking from someone on the street, barring some other condition they may have, isn't likely to kill them unless you gorge yourself. Taking blood packs? There's always a shortage of blood, and having even less of it runs the very real risk of getting someone killed in a way that is wholly out of your control once you've sipped on that blood. Someone you can't assure the innocence or guilt of, if you're the type of person who cares about that.

Despite that, in popular stuff, I often see discussions of drinking from a blood bank being somehow better or preferable, and yeah. No. The only thing it does is make you feel better while doing more harm, because of that degree of removal. You're effectively drinking blood from someone on the cusp of hypovolemic shock, but since it's not straight from the tap, some people seem to think it's better.

the true vampire go to should be pig and cow blood from the draining of slaughtered animals. In one of my worlds it is the most common blood source along with some human blood and supplements. Now the world is a modern world with magic being common place where the US discovered magic by accidentally sending werewolves to the trenches of WWI and then used it extensively in WWII which led to it being revealed to the world. So my world has had research into how to help magical beings integrate into human life.

Okay so thinking about this a bit I think that it would depend on why you were viewing that area, like if it is inside a home that you do not have access to or the residents haven’t given you permission to view inside it would be iffy but if you had permission such as it is a rental property and you gave prior warning that you would be viewing at this time to inspect it would probably be fine. Where it would get more complicated is if you were viewing this area by accident, maybe you are still learning how to use the orb and directed it to the wrong area like you don’t have permission but you didn’t mean to look it could be viewed like using a telescope and not realizing where it was pointing before you looked through it

i think people who aren't autistic can get confused by what a special interest is and why it's different than just a thing that someone likes an above average amount and it's always been hard to explain it beyond "no, you just don't get it". but i think dungeon meshi has really laid it out perfectly with laios and monsters. He doesn't just like monsters, he doesn't just love monsters, he filters just about everything in his life though his interest in monsters. he characterizes and identifies his friends in no small part through how they interact with monsters, he warms up to kabru immediately when he thinks that he wants to try monster meals. his strength and purpose revolves around monsters. he pretty clearly wants to BE a monster. that's special interest.

this is also why those old posts that went something like "don't let your interests define you" always struck me as incredibly ignorant because my autistic interests are functionally as much a part of me as my flesh and blood. i think it's why shared interests are so critically important in autistic relationships and why autistic people so heavily bond to people who are into the same weird shit that they are, even if that shared enjoyment of a particular thing may not be as critical of a building block for a relationship to the other person.

If you don’t want kids to read a book, don’t allow it to portray a child’s actual, relateable anxieties around puberty, sex, adulthood and their parents in the most high gothic way possible. As a kid I read at a very high reading level and at ten years old read the books left out at my cabin which were crime novels, these books were not written for a child audience but I read them, the bad stuff went over my head but it also lead to me not realizing that I didn’t really feel romantic love until my 20’s. Also I learned what Auto erotic asphyxiation at 11 years old because one of the books a read had a murder staged to look like that
