Rachel: I rest my case.
Rachel: Fine. See you then.

Finn: No, I said spending the whole night doing work was lame.
Finn: I'm not asking you to switch loyalties or whatever you think is happening. You can be friends with him and still tutor me. I'm not asking you to hang out.
Finn: Do you need some proof or something? Meet me by my locker tomorrow and I'll show you my last chem test.
Rachel: Semantics
Rachel: Did you even know my name prior to Sam's transfer?

Finn: You sort of did but whatever. Okay, you don't have to go all dictionary on me.
Finn: So?
Rachel: You called me lame. Hardly complimentary.
Rachel: You haven't exactly been warm and welcoming. I refuse to be some sort of pawn in a twisted game. My loyalties lie with him.

Finn: See, you're already trying to help.
Finn: I know. The one time we spoke, you said I was dumb. Which is why I need a tutor.
Finn: Yeah obviously like a hundred bells, but what's that got to do with anything?
Rachel: Cute. I can't decide whether I should laugh or roll my eyes.
Rachel: I most certainly did not. You insulted me and I responded in kind. Besides, the formal definition of dumb is to be mute. Something you obviously are not.
Rachel: He's my best friend.
PRIVATE || FINCHEL
Finn: Why don't you wanna do it?
Finn: And you can't say "my failure" because I wouldn't fail if I had a tutor. Gotta be another reason.
Rachel: "Want to." Wanna is not a word.
Rachel: Why would I? You haven't exactly been cordial.
Rachel: Yes. Which is exactly why I said I would refer you to someone.
Rachel: Does the name Sam ring any bells?
PRIVATE || FINCHEL
Finn: Professional tutors aren't the same as someone who actually goes to my school. Didn't you say you liked having extra school stuff do?
Rachel: I have plenty to keep me occupied.
-5 minutes-
Rachel: I can't be your tutor, Finn. It wouldn't be right. That being said, I refuse to have your failure on my conscience, so how about I refer you to another highly qualified student tutor.
PRIVATE || FINCHEL
Rachel: Ha. Is this some sort of joke?
Finn: No, I'm being for real. I need to pass chemistry and it looks like a different language.
Rachel: Why me? Why not ask your parents to hire you a professional tutor?
PRIVATE || FINCHEL
Rachel: Yes? Why do you ask?
Finn: I think I might need one.
Rachel: Ha. Is this some sort of joke?

Finn: Hey so you said you're a tutor at school, right?
Rachel: Yes? Why do you ask?

Hey! There’s nothing wrong with studying. You know how seriously I take my education. Maintaining my class rank is going to be the thing that gets me out of Tree Hill. Not to mention your mom asked me if I could fill in tonight. Apparently the new guy has a bad case of “ivegotsomethingbettertodo - itis.”
Studying is like, a necessary evil. I don’t think anyone is meant to actually enjoy it. Yeah, I know. But still. Oh yeah? Have fun with that. I wish you luck. Can’t really blame him though.
How can you say that? Acquiring new information can be incredibly exciting! Besides, isn't it better to try and enjoy something you consider tedious rather than simply tolerating it? Oh, do you have plans this weekend? I was thinking we could go see a movie or something.

Okay, I should probably change that to surprisingly in my case. Maybe not, but it’s not like I had a test or anything in particular to be studying for. And I’m not usually this proactive.
At least you're honest. Do you normally only study prior to an exam? I'm personally not a proponent of cramming. If you're interested, I'd be happy to forward you some study and time management guides.
Not a whole lot of sleep here this weekend, thank god we don’t have any practices until later this week. I’m in need of some serious r&r. And with any luck my sick little Jenny will be feeling better by then.

Don’t we all? It is, true, I was just pointing it out– meaning you could probably use a break. Seriously? I wasn’t even throwing any attitude. Why so defensive? I have plenty more to do with my time than just cheer. That doesn’t make up all that I am, but way to judge a book by its cover.
You're right and please accept my sincerest apologies. I suppose I was taken aback by your reply. We've never actually spoken to one another outside of the occasional pleasantry in the hallway.

Nah, just taking a quick break between practice and homework. I wouldn’t be the captain of the basketball team if I didnt know how to treat people. I wasn’t the one hurling insults for no reason.
I hardly think my initial inquiry was rude or insulting. In fact, you were the one who felt the need to pass judgement on the way I spend my weekends. I simply responded in kind. However, that being said, I probably should have bitten my tongue and ignored your reply. Have a lovely evening.

Yeah totally. I’m in high school in the same grade as you, but had to look it up. Sure. I can see how it was supposed to be an insult, but you might want to add that to your work list since it wasn’t a very good one.
For someone who supposedly lives a busy life, you certainly seem to have a lot of time on your hands. Perhaps you should use that free time to learn how to treat people.
