FInal Thoughts
This trip was one of the craziest, most wonderful things we have ever done. We would, in a heartbeat, jump in the car with our crew with almost no plan and, as a wise three year old likes to say, "$20 (or so!) in our pocket" to explore America again.
The quality family time, frustrating moments, tears and laughter were all amazing, but the fun of sharing national monuments, natural beauty and the history of our country with our au pair and children was priceless. If you have not hit the open road with your loved ones, you are missing out.
Last attempt, and then we decided sleep was more important. You get the idea-we made it!
Our first attempt at the "we have arrived home" photo, 5:40am. No, do not adjust your screen..
Correct road... but why is it so long? I-90 here we come!
Truly a multifunctional product...provides drinks the night before and makes a great pillow the day after...roadtrip!
Galena, IL nice little town for lunch...we will be back someday...but for now let's put you in the rearview and head east.
Jess's pin collection. A good start!
T just threw a tantrum so daddy would cut is sandwich like this. Cuz we have the patience for this now.
Last roadside lunch
Galena, IL. Cute little town on Route 20
And we are now east. Yet soooooo far from home. Looks like mom and dad are pulling an all nighter, but it was worth it!
The Ole Miss, The Old Man.... deeeeeeeppppp riiiivvvveeeerrrrrrr
There is a blurry Mississippi River paddle boat for you
