In 2010, at the height of Tumblr's Fandom experience, I created the Tumblr dress to wear to what was then, Denver Comic Con. It's not called that anymore, and #superwholock is no longer the megalithe of content it used to be. But regardless, I created a dress based on Tumblr to cosplay the experience of sharing fandom and tags with people. The white fabric of the dress originally was white. I brought fabric pens for people to add their favorite tags and share their account names with me by writing them all over the dress. It was incredible! I posed for pictures with a lot of Loki cosplayers.
So here we are, also in 2025, and my bestie and I hear that Dashcon 2.0 might happen again. And of course, we immediately think of the Tumblr dress and how cool it would be to make a newer version, one that celebrates Tumblr now. She is planning to make an AO3 dress to go with me.
I am very excited to start this new project and share the journey along the way. Enjoy!!
