Little Moments From Bridgerton 4x07 That I'm Still Thinking About
...okay, but was there nowhere else they could have used this happy B-footage?
Francesca in front of the mirror with the black veil. Clearly a parallel to her standing in front of the mirror last season in her wedding dress.
Michaela sitting on the floor, barely holding it together, hugging her knees, and Francesca asking if she's ready.
Francesca disassociating at the wake while people are giving their condolences.
Okay, I know Violet is worried about Francesca and for good reason. But she's so anxious to be at the ready when Francesca finally "breaks" that she's giving me anxiety.
The necklace is missing! And now we know how Benedict is finally going to figure things out.
"I wanted to feel something other than despair. So I chose to feel cold."/"Is it helping?"/"Not particularly." Even when he's heartbroken over Sophie and about John's death, Benedict still manages to be a comedian.
Francesca snapping at Michaela. She's the only one that Francesca hasn't been able to keep her cool around.
Even Eloise is like "why hasn't Francesca's breakdown happened, yet?"
Once again, in times of high stress, your period can get delayed. Francesca's holding on to that tiny shred of hope and trying to stay calm for the sake of the child she believes she's carrying.
"John has left me with a gift: a piece of himself. Just as father left mother with Hyacinth." This line is going to be heartbreaking later.
Here comes Violet's anxiety, giving me anxiety again. Francesca and Benedict can't catch a break.
As I've said before, don't tell me your character is "lovesick" unless he looks like Benedict Bridgerton in this episode when his mother learns he's in love with Sophie: pale, disheveled, shaking, dark circles under the eyes, on the verge of tears, probably about to throw up at any moment and barely holding it back, etc. He looks like his heart was ripped out of his chest and smashed into a million tiny pieces.
And as some of the reblog tags said on that post- "the yearning was unparalleled," "the back half of the season was just him looking like he was dying over and over again like some ingenue with consumption," "he looked so pathetic and miserable, you love to see it."
Benedict said the word "love" and activated Mama Bridgerton like a sleeper agent.
If there's one thing Violet's gonna do, she's gonna follow up and make sure she has all the information. Now she knows for sure that Benedict and Sophie love each other, she's the official captain of the Benophie ship.
Eloise's look when Gregory says "mother should have stopped at seven."
Eloise being amused at Hyacinth's antics until she hears the reason for them and her face dropping.
Kate wanted to run away to India. Sophie wants to run away to the Americas. They'll have a lot to talk about as sisters in law.
Benedict losing his shit in defense of his sister.
That whole exam scene! Violet's heart is breaking for her daughter. Francesca's last shred of hope that she'll have a living piece of John to remember him by is being taken away. And I almost forget that Eloise is the older sister until scenes like this happen and she has to watch her little sister go through this and there's nothing she can do.
Eloise, presumably, still doesn't know how a woman comes to be with child at this point. But between Francesca's comment about her courses being late and this exam, she has a few pieces of the puzzle.
Benedict and Sophie's quiet moment in the study with the foreheads touching.
And here comes Violet's anxiety giving me anxiety for a third time this episode.
I wouldn't want to sleep in the room I used to share with my husband where I found him dead, either, Violet! Why is it so surprising that Francesca doesn't want to right now?
And this is where Francesca's earlier line about John leaving a piece of himself comes back to break our hearts. Because Francesca was comforting herself with the thought that she and her mother were both widowed while they were with child. But now she doesn't even have that.
Give Hannah Dodd her Emmy for that scene!
"How strong did I make that drink?"
I'm absolutely obsessed with Posy's dress from when she climbs out the drawing room window to warn Sophie about Araminta. One of my favorite costumes from season 4.
I can't take Araminta's tragic backstory seriously when she's weaponizing it to manipulate her daughther.
Benedict and Francesca's scene together at the piano.
Francesca's speech about John 😭 😭 😭
The contrast between this celebration of John's life with Sophie in tears, packing up her few belongings and getting ready to leave a life with Benedict behind.
The clip clop of hooves on Benedict's horse being in time with the music.
Sophie blowing out the candle when the music stops.
OH! GOOD! NOW THAT SOPHIE'S BOOBS AREN'T IN YOUR FACE AND DISTRACTING YOU, YOU CAN TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT THAT NECKLACE AND PUT ALL THE PUZZLE PIECES TOGETHER!
Someone else has already pointed this out, but at the same moment Sophie closes her eyes to remember the night of the masquerade, Benedict's eyes are finally "opening" as he realizes who was behind that mask all along.
I think Benedict running down to the servant's quarters in a panic and demanding to know where Sophie is gone is when Hazel started to put the pieces together on who Sophie's mystery man was.
This man finally starts running and he's still too late to get to Sophie!
