A new month… yet the same old projects and deadlines! Been stuck in a limbo currently as I’ve upgraded my space. I got a new bookshelf for my craft room and honestly been a bit distracted lately. It’s even got a junk drawer for bits, bobs and whatchamacallits, and under that a cabinet perfect for hiding fabric that I may or may not have bought out of budget…

As such I’ve been rediscovering a lot of neat art supplies that have been tucked away, and it’s become an excellent distraction from the chaos. I ended up drawing my felted friend up above with some coloring pencils and wanted to share. It’s never too late to do some Spring/Summer Cleaning I suppose! ;)

I had a neighbor arrive safe and sound, alongside another friendly face last week. We have had some rainy days where I’m from but today was finally sunny out (and hot enough to cook you too!)

I just love the details on Frank and the Buggle. Down to the striped socks on Mr.Frankly and the squishy wings of the Buggle. Definitely cheered me up when they arrived on my doorstep, I can’t wait to see who else might stop by.

My order from the Welcome Home shop is almost here. I finally got a chance to get Frank and the Buggle and I can’t wait for them to arrive. I keep thinking to myself that Frank is on some sort of Roadtrip with his little bug friend in tow. It actually makes me wonder how he would handle traveling? I’d assume he would be very on top of things. The planning, packing, scheduling and all. However with the Buggle alongside him who knows. (Considering the trouble it seems to get into for W)

Here’s hoping they arrive by the end of the week! :)

If you could stargaze late at night with Sally, I wonder if she would point out the stars in the night sky and refer them as people she knows, considering that she “fell from above” before she moved to Home.

Like “That big star in the north with a blueish hue is Ernest, and the smaller orange one beside him is Matilda” and then she would go on about the two, about their life, jobs and hobbies and such.

Just the thought of her having a sleepover with Poppy in her cozy barn and pointing out the stars and constellations over tea makes me so happy. ☀️🧶

I just received new fabric for my hand puppet today! I feel so excited to give them a fresh look but gosh do I feel nervous! :0

I’m going to do some photoshoots with them before their makeover, give myself a chance to prepare for such a big endeavor! This is a project I’ve been meaning to do for a while (among others…) but I’ve been unfortunately dealing with some health problems lately. I made my puppet back right before the first fall update for Welcome Home was dropped (gosh it’s been a bit!) and since then they have had their own space to call home.

The Welcome Home restoration project has been one of the most inspirational and comforting series for me. I always find myself coming back to revisit the neighborhood and refresh my memory for the next update! Anyhoo here’s an old picture of my Puppet below! :)

A small theory on a particular parcel…

I had a realization, Valentine’s Day or in this case the WH version “Mail-in-time” would also take place during February right?

February is (depending where you are) considered to be part of the winter season, whereas late March is when spring arrives. What do rainbow monsters do during the winter season? Hibernate until spring!

I’ve seen theories discussing this might in fact be a package Eddie had intended to give to Frank (based of the handwriting). If we consider February to still be winter that would mean Julie would have interrupted her own hibernation to take it. (Would Julie truly stoop so low to take from the neighborhood’s friendly and only mailman? Hmm…)

On the other hand if “Mail-in-time” happens while Julie sleeps then she wouldn’t get a chance to partake. Perhaps this gift is buried for a reason? A holiday to celebrate love and the friendship you hold dear. One day she unfortunately cannot take part in and by then when spring arrives stuck with a gift too late to give? A symbolic gesture of unsaid love that cannot be reciprocated and left to sit in the dirt…

Anyhoo just some thoughts I had recently, feel free to let me know your thoughts!

What a Marvelously Sensational and Delightfully Curious Creature designed to make anyone’s day even more joyful! This little guy did not have a choice in his making but that doesn’t matter now.

What does matter is that he is a one of a kind bug with his own sense of style! Using only the most leftover and forgotten fabric I discovered while cleaning out the closet. Here’s hoping I get along well with my new pal! Hopefully once I figure out where it went…

Date unknown, (manufacturer unknown??

A small pig coin bank that was decorated with familiar symbols. Possibly inspired from its owner who had been introduced to or witnessed Welcome Home Puppet Show while it was still on air. The coin bank feels heavy and produces noise when turn and moved, However it is has been discovered to be empty…

Hello again! Dropping by to share another little creation inspired by the lovely Welcome Home Puppet show! This time I found a little piggy bank to decorate and boy was it fun. My idea was to make it look a bit dated and give it some childish touches. I used chalk paint to give the illusion of old ceramic and I felt like it worked quite well. I ended up using some crayons instead to give it a more hands-on feel.

Considering that Home itself hasn’t shown to use real currency I’m not sure if the neighbors would own one. If so I wonder what else they put In there? I knew a quilter who stored buttons so perhaps the neighbors would find a purpose for them after all, Anyhoo…enjoy!

I had someone very special holding my stocking this year…

I got a little house stocking holder and used felt to give it that special welcoming feeling of Homewarming. I am very happy about how they came out and think Wally would be too! (A little Home that holds your stocking? How polite and practical!)

With some theories being thrown around about that felt flower from the spring update I got inspired to draw a new face, more info down below for possible spoilers. :)

After this recent update with our bug eccentric neighbor I was quite inspired and horrified by some of the theories I’ve read. Especially the ones focused on the flower and his relationship with Julie. The implications of the unblooming flower being a rainbow monster…and the symbolism? I love when a project is subtle with its horror, just a little taste to get your blood flowing and mind racing!

The implications are there but I wouldn’t necessarily say this cranky kid is related to Julie and Frank. More so I imagine them as a wild child that just appears once in a while from the woods and in need of some distraction from boredom. Spending most of their days climbing trees, jumping into muddy puddles and causing trouble. At night returning to somewhere, perhaps a tree house or cozy little cave? I’m not sure myself. I haven’t even decided on a name for them yet.

I wanna go back and change some things but my IPad was on its last charge so this will have to do for now. I just love the idea of Frank and Julia attempting and somewhat failing to be role models for a cranky teenager with hilarious outcomes.

I’ve been trying to sneak in some craft time and I thought it would be cute to make some felt ornaments and decided to go with Poppy! It took a while and a montage but here she is looking stupendously in all her feathery grace! She is on the bigger side but all the more to appreciate and adore!

I hope to in time reunite her with the other neighbors very soon! @:)

“Where…do you think… you’re going…”

Whenever I’m at the produce section buying apples I can’t help but think of Wally and sometimes imagine him looking at them beside me.

I just imagine this polite little guy glancing at all the apples with his big ol eyes and a wide smile, just enamored by all the options in front of him. What a sweet little guy!

Welcome Home tooth troubles

Recently i’ve been dealing with way too many tooth aches and dentist appointments and it made me wonder how the neighbors would react to an unwelcome cavity or to some unfortunately unwise wisdom teeth causing trouble. On a brighter note just a nice cleaning!

Do the neighbors have to worry about sugary delights causing tooth decay? (Of course some puppets have teeth for da looks, but would they be functional in their little world though?)

I can imagine Frank having a lengthy brushing routine, making sure to get into all the nooks and crannies. Even proudly telling the Dentist his routine and how he flosses everyday.

Julie making silly faces in the mirror and sticking her tongue out, giggling to her self as she brushes. I think she would be a little nervous about a checkup but very cheery nonetheless! Especially when the Dentist offers her a little prize or sticker for being a good sport!

Eddie wandering around inside his post office as he brushes, so many thoughts and things to remember! Should he floss first or after? Wait, how long has he been brushing this side? Should he get his toothbrush a spare so it ain’t lonely? Ends up taking a while at his checkup as he talks while the dentist tries to work.

Howdy would be definitely make sure to brush, floss and gargle, the whole shebang! He’s a salesman of course! Can’t make a good deal with a crooked grin or a leaf stuck between your teeth. He’d be up and early for his appointment and by golly he’s coming out with a smiling pair of gleaming chompers, ready to seal a deal on some of his fine wares. He rivals Eddie with how much he talks though, His hands gesturing as he tells the Dentist about his recent business ventures.

Now Sally… as a thespian she must be her very best! Or as least she tries… creating an elaborate routine for her lovely smile to shine! Not even Franklins routine could match hers. Especially when she accidentally forgets to floss or realizes she’s gotten the wrong toothpaste. The show must go on though! Sally would talk proudly to the dentist, at one point standing on the chair and gesturing, dramatically claiming her smile will one day warm not just the hearts of her neighbors but the whole world from her stage! There is a chance she’ll be walking out with a filling however.

How would a puppet like Wally react with his quirks? (unable to sleep for example) Would he still be awake despite getting a whole round of anesthesia? (For example wisdom teeth removal)

I can imagine the Doctor asking him to count back from 10 and Wally doing so. After which the Doctor remarks “alright he’s asleep let’s start”.

only for Wally to say “oh no, I’m not asleep, I am still awake” @:) and the Doctor and his assistant left puzzled for a moment.

On the other hand I can from my own experience imagine him not immediately waking up. Years ago I had own Wisdom Teeth Removal and apparently I was in a really deep sleep.

To the point they just left me in the hallway until I finally woke up!

I wonder how the little guy would react to being “asleep”. I’m sure he’d be somewhat confused, maybe relieved? I’m not sure. Does he or any other puppet in Home even have wisdom teeth? Who knows!

I just imagine at some point a few of the neighbors are just outside enjoying a picnic and spending some time together (Frank, Julie, Eddie…)

At one point they start sharing where they were born and grew up. Julie excitedly talking about the lovely flower she bloomed from alongside her siblings. Eddie brings up his dear mother and starts getting places switched up and mumbling different towns off the top of his head as he tries to remember where he grew up. Julie chiming in and listing all sorts of places (real and fake! Of course)

Out of the corner of Franks eyes he sees Wally on a nice stroll and curiosity takes over him.

“Say Wally, since you’re here where are you from?”

Of course Wally would say “Home” and Frank again would ask

“No, I mean where were you from before Home? where were you born?”

And Wally without any doubt would reiterate “Home” looking over in Homes direction. Then wishing Frank goodbye before happily continuing on his way.

I like to think of Frank sitting there absolutely befuddled and full of questions. All the while Julie and Eddie having not caught the conversation between the two.

What a silly thought indeed! @:)
