“Oh.” If there was one thing about checking out in a big damned hero way that Meg liked, it was that she didn’t have to think about it afterwards. Didn’t have to consider any concerns she might have had, long dead feelings that might have been stirred up or find herself staring at that stupid little smile and far-off look. Okay, maybe the last part wasn’t so bad. Meg tried to fight off her own little soft smile but couldn’t. “Just couldn’t get me off your mind, huh? I get it. I know how to make an impression,” she winked, leaning against her hand while her eyes scanned the bar. An angel and a demon walk into a bar… She snuck a look back over to him, much too aware of the space between them. “Whiskey. Make it a double, being D-E-A-D gives you a certain appreciation for the finer things in life,” she smirked before letting out a sigh, “Lemme guess. You’re down here from cloud nine ‘cause of the Wonder Boys?”
There was a lot left unsaid but Castiel was never one to say what he had in mind or to understand the strangeness of any of this especially considering the fact that given his reasons here-he had many reasons to feel somewhat afraid of losing those he cared for. “It was actually easy to get you off my mind but i’d be lying if I said you didn’t happen to crop up every now and then.” He remembered what she had said all those years ago about how it was strange that he was kind of bad and she was kind of good-maybe she had been right, maybe he had changed because of those around him just like the other angels had been so quick to remind him. Nodding, Cas made sure the bartender heard the order while he attempted to place his thoughts elsewhere “Yes, I never really went back up but i’m here for them...I think I always will be.”
