The Brownstone: a discord server themed and centered around the novel Red, White & Royal Blue. Inspired by Alex and Henry’s home mentioned at the end of the novel, the server is a safe space, a place similar to what we all imagine Alex and Henry (along with the rest of the Super Six, on occasion) would have in their Brooklyn brownstone home. We had a makeover in celebration of the one-year anniversary of our server and now have more to explore!
In this server, you can:
- share and receive recommendations for fanfics
- discuss your favorite scenes in the book
- rave or criticize the bonus chapter in its own dedicated channel
- discuss the upcoming movie in a brand new category dedicated to the movie
- post and discuss 100-word drabbles inspired by prompts posted there every Monday

Introducing Keyboard Karaoke: A RWRB Songfic Exchange!
For this event, writers will submit a song and are tasked with writing a fanfiction inspired by whichever song they receive in the exchange. Feel free to take inspiration from the lyrics, the music video, the vibes, the album, or any aspect of the song you’d like! Fics should be around 2-4k (2k minimum; they can be as long as you like). Hi! This is my first time potentially participating in firstprince week so I had a few questions!
1) daily prompts - do works have to be posted on that day, eg. “Kiss me like you mean it” post on Oct. 2
(I’m assuming that’s the preference, just checking!)
2) if I’m working on a sorry that contains various prompts, I’m assuming I’d break it down by chapter and post on the day?
Finally, 3) can I include my story in other collections (outside of the FirstPrince week collection)?

1. Ideally, yes, each prompt is designated to a specific day and your coordinating fic should be posted that day. Ultimately, we understand that people may not be available to post on the indicated date, so of course if you need to post on a different day you can. However, our collection will not accept fics posted before September 27 or after October 10th (one week after the event has ended for anyone who needed a little extra time).

No! Everyone is welcome to participate! The more the merrier! Please share this with anyone who may be interested in joining.
Is Not Safe For Work (NSFW, 18+) content allowed?
Yes, just as long as content is properly tagged.
Is this event solely dedicated to either the book or the movie?
No! You can do something for either, just be sure to properly tag your works. If you write a movie fic, make sure to put it under the movie ao3 tag: Red White & Royal Blue (2023). If you write a book fic, make sure to put it under the book ao3 tag: Red White & Royal Blue - Casey McQuiston. Please, however, do not cross tag if not applicable.
Do I have to participate every single day?
Nope! We know that can be a lot. Just do the one(s) that excite you the most if you can’t do them all.
Can I post more than one submission per prompt/day?
Yes, of course! If you are inspired to create multiple projects for one prompt, that's incredible.
What tags should I use on sites other than ao3?
On socials, we recommend using any of these tags: #firstprinceweek, #firstprinceweek2025, #firstprince week, #firstprince week 2025.
Is there a firstprince week ao3 tag?
Last year, members used the tags “The Brownstone Discord’s firstprince Week 2023”, “firstprince week 2023”, “firstprince week”, and others. These were all wrangled together, however it is not mandatory to use any such tags. On ao3, you can just add your fics to our collection.
Can I write a story in a language other than English?
Of course!
Should I post my works as chapters of the same fic or as individual fics?
Up to you! However, we recommend posting each fic as an individual work, especially if you end up writing a multi-chapter fic one day. We would suggest separating the fics for an easier reading experience for others.
Are there any requirements/suggestions about length for fics?
Nope! Feel free to write as much or as little as you’d like!
Can I create something that happens to involve a side ship?
Sure, as long as that ship is secondary to firstprince. This is, first and foremost, firstprince week after all.
I don’t make fanart nor do I write fanfic, what can I do to participate?
Anything! Many things are still available to you even if you don’t want to write or do traditional art. You can make gif sets, fancams/edits, playlists, or whatever you can come up with.
Can I post my submissions late?
Yep! The collection will remain open for one week post the event.
Will there be other rwrb ship weeks?
Maybe! We hope to do this again for other ships, but we want to focus on this event right now.

Introducing Chitchat Challenge, this year’s take on The Brownstone’s annual RWRB summer fic exchange! Like our past events, authors will write fics based on other participants’ prompts. This year, the prompts will be dialogue based. Everyone will submit two short quotes and be given two quotes in return to work into a fic. Sign-ups are open now through June 23rd. It depends on what you need help with, but we have a large community of fanfic writers and readers. We have a channel dedicated to just talking all things fanfic, whether it's asking questions about canon and characters, requesting betas, or just talking about fic ideas. We have channels dedicated specifically towards sending fanfics that people have written or are recommending. We even have a channel dedicated to sending small snippets of fics in progress to receive hype and possible feedback, if that's what you are looking for.
We can't guarantee anything, but we are filled with people who are passionate about fanfic as a craft and who are very willing to help each other and new members!
