I've seen UTDR fans mix these up a few times lately so here's a refresher :

Golden Flowers ≠ Buttercups.

Buttercups :

Chara and Asriel accidentally put some in a pie, misunderstanding 'cups of butter'. Asgore got super sick due to it.

Chara ingested a bunch to commit suicide for the sake of their plan to break the barrier

Golden Flowers :

Sticky seeds

The flower from Chara's village they "wanted to see one last time", brought inside the underground post Chara and Asriel's death

Comestible. Asgore's favourite tea is from golden flowers.

What Flowey is, as Alphys took the first golden Flower that grew in Asgore's garden ti inject it with DT.

These are not the same flowers at all! Yet somehow people always mix these up.

I'm bringing it up now because people start associating Flowery and the seed package Kris retrieved from their jar to Buttercups, even though the flower has been described as a Golden Flower as early as chapter 1.

Now I agree that pack of seeds with warnings all over is worrying, though... I don't know much about flower seeds toxicity and how it works. Can a seed be toxic and not its flower? ... Can a seed be toxic? Lethally so? I have no clue. I don't know what other kind of warning could be on flower seeds either. This is all very odd.

Anyway my point is made. Flowery is a Golden Flower ! Which is not a Buttercup! He has sticky seeds and can be turned into tea ! Or Flowery Soda ! Whichever!

Alright I'll be honest, Chapters 1-2 I liked Deltarune just fine, and Chapters 3-4 made me narratively invested; but Chapter 5 made me love Deltarune. Chapter 5 has me seeking out new streamers to see everyone's reaction to it, and I think I've only done that before for Queen-specific parts of Cyber World

I want to share some wisdom from my high school art teacher.

In my AP Art class, there was a girl who was just starting to experiment with mixed media. At this point she was still playing around, trying to decide what direction she wanted to go with her portfolio. So one critique day, she brought in an abstract canvas with some rhinestone highlights and painted and real peacock feathers. She loved sparkles and peacock feathers so she thought she’d try introducing them a *little*. And after everyone had given some input, the teacher gave her his advice, VERY roughly paraphrased here:

“So here’s the thing… I do not like this style. These are just elements that do not speak to me personally, but I see that you like them, and you’re doing interesting things with them.

“My biggest critique is, I only merely *dislike* this piece. I want you to make me HATE it. Go crazy with the things that you like. Don’t hold back trying to make it palatable to people like me. Because I am NEVER going to like it. And if the audience does not like it, it should drive them crazy seeing how much YOU love it.”

Her portfolio was chock full of neon colors and glitter and rhinestones and splashes of peacock feathers and it was a delight. Our teacher despised every piece lol, but she got great marks and I think even won some awards. And more importantly, she was happy and proud of the results. Because she didn’t limit herself by trying to appeal to people who were never going to enjoy what she enjoyed.

Takeaway here: be as cringe as you want. Don’t limit yourself based on other ppl’s tastes. They’re not you, and you are incredible 💕

a headcanon is a fact that you have personally made up as an elaboration of canon. it is your invention. e.g. i think morgana and gwen had a teenage lesbian situationship before the events of canon. or, i think modern morgana would love evanesence.

an interpretation is how one reads the existing text. it is not an invented fact nor is it a headcanon, it is a reading. e.g. i think merlin tries to poison morgana out of misplaced self-hatred. or, i think that one line was delivered with suppressed malice and shows a nuanced relationship.

fanon is the general fandom’s accepted headcanons and interpretations that elaborate or recontextualize canon. e.g. merlin is a badass waif and morgana is a bitch.

these are all different words with different meanings.

Also, for an interpretation to be valid it needs to be based on the text. It cannot just be a vibe. One can disagree on readings of the text, but if someone comes with quotes and/or historical context and you just have vibes, then sorry, your interpretation is inferior and may in fact just be a headcanon.

So we know that the flowers chose how they looked, and I'm guessing that Flowery is a human and not a monster because he's mimicking Kris, and the others must be mimicking Flowery. So did Orange just not know that Kris was a human or what. The flowers have been with Asgore for twenty odd years and he did not own the flower shop until he was ousted as police chief, so the flowers must have "lived with" the Dreemurrs for Kris's childhood. What happened here 😭 and also when did she ever see a mouse

If, theoretically, the flower gang were turned into lightner dryad people, then they wouldn't be able to stay in Hometown because that'd be very awkward for a bunch of people on a number of levels. Also, I just don't know what post-roaring / post-game hometown will look like and whether or not everyone will know / be socially okay with darkners/plantners

So current AU plan is in Asgore's kidnapped absence, the flowers get turned into dryad people (? maybe with Determination???) and are isekai'd to the post-pacifist ending Undertale universe, where they can interact with everyone in new and interesting ways, including Asgore. Brought by Sans since he's the only one who can do that.

I just don't know *why* he'd do that xD
