I dare say Jesper's relative lack of Problems is in itself lowkey racist. I mean idk. Black people are always suffering in fiction maybe they don't need more of that this is a little outside my wheelhouse. But ☝️ I am Indigenous and mixed & I like him. And outside of his closet wizard allegorical problems I find it kind of weird how okay he is compared to the whole rest of the main cast ? Especially in ways directly related to racialization. He gets to have a deadmom and his dad doesn't understand him whatever. Does he have any particular thoughts or feelings about his dad being a colonizer ? Do you know what I mean. Why and how is Jesper just chillin. In this world. Is the author scared of unpacking all that. Is Inej the only one who gets to think about racism
