he’s honestly so bad at acting it’s almost impossible not to tell something is up

you don’t guess that’s he planning a surprise party for your birthday but you just know that he’s being really weird

all he did was say happy birthday and quickly kissed you in the morning unlike usual where he would stay in bed for ages just to cuddle with you like the smol bean he is

and the easiest giveaway that something wasn’t right was that he woke up early

when you ask him though he just says he had loads of work to do

did I mention that he’s a terrible liar?

as much as he hates work and planning he tries his best to make it amazing

but when you storm over to find him you find yourself in the party he planned

so you try to make him tell

but he refuses to respond because he’s honestly tying so hard to make the surprise perfect

this boy actually has vision

he plans well and knows what you want

he knows what he wants as well just to make you as happy as possible

actually really good and pretending he doesn’t care that much

as in he wishes you a happy birthday but just sorta disappears after that

unlike Noct and Prompto he doesn’t give it away at all

which just annoys and angers you more that he doesn’t seem to care

it was so unlike him

after awhile that anger turns to sadness

and when seeing you randomly whilst planning he feels really bad about it

the point is to make you super happy not even a little bit sad

so he tells you he promises he hasn’t forgotten he just wants to do something for you as a surprise

and makes sure you’re perfectly okay again before leaving to continue planning the party

he’s really caring about it

he hates seeing you sad, even if he knows you’ll be happy later

especially on your birthday

when he finally reveals the surprise to you he’s overwhelmed with how genuinely happy you are

“well it wasn’t fully a surprise, but you like it, don’t you?”

“of course I do.”

sneaks away with you privately for awhile at the party

to check if you’re okay

and mainly you’re just happy that he planned the whole thing for you

and really well to be honest

Gladio “I have a freaking six pack” Amicitia is amazing at planning parties, who knew?

Ignis:

obviously is amazing at planning you a surprise party like usual

perfectly plans everything before hand to make it work out just as expected 

bakes the cake

and makes all the food

even amazing at decor because?? he’s good at everything.

he’s also really good at making excuses to why he can’t hang out with you much on your birthday

so everything is believable 

seriously, is he even bad at anything??

but he doesn’t apologise much for not being with you which is strange

so when you went over you seemed so disappointed

until your friends were all singing happy birthday to you as you walked in

okay but having a genius chef as your boyfriend really has its perks 

the cake is freaking amazing

Surprise Party Headcanons

Noctis:

he’s honestly so bad at acting it’s almost impossible not to tell something is up

you don’t guess that’s he planning a surprise party for your birthday but you just know that he’s being really weird

all he did was say happy birthday and quickly kissed you in the morning unlike usual where he would stay in bed for ages just to cuddle with you like the smol bean he is

and the easiest giveaway that something wasn’t right was that he woke up early

EARLY

when you ask him though he just says he had loads of work to do

did I mention that he’s a terrible liar?

as much as he hates work and planning he tries his best to make it amazing

but ends up asking the others for help because he’s that bad at it

but it’s adorable that he’s trying, right?

mainly asks Ignis to help him

but still tells everyone what to do

because he really wants to seem like he is helping

he thought of it so he wanted to prove he could at least plan some of it

after awhile you just get annoyed he hasn’t spent time with you the whole day

you know it’s not “just work” and he’s hiding something from you

but when you storm over to find him you find yourself in the party he planned

“so I know it’s terrible but I tried okay?”

but lowkey you’re still annoyed that he didn’t spend much time with you at the start of the day

but the way he’s actually proud to had pull it off despite his shit acting was too adorable

so you had to thank him in the end

Prompto:

he’s so freaking excited for your birthday it’s so obvious he’s planning something

not exactly a party, but you know it’s something

so you try to make him tell

he doesn’t crack and tell you what he’s planning although he is terrible at keeping a secret

so you let him do whatever he’s doing

even though you keep asking and texting him about it

but he refuses to respond because he’s honestly tying so hard to make the surprise perfect

this boy actually has vision

he plans well and knows what you want

he knows what he wants as well just to make you as happy as possible

inviting you over to come to the party is so bad

“hey come to my house”

“why?”

“uhhh just 'cause”

“‘cause what…?”

“just come. please.”

“okaaay…”

peppers you with kisses immediately as soon as everyone shouts “happy birthday” when you walk in

watches your reaction to absolutely everything to see if his planning was as perfect as he hoped

turns out it was

likes to see your facial reactions too

and teases you about them obviously

but you love everything about it

and you were over the moon

“you know you’re a terrible actor”

“yeah I know”

“but you still love me.”

Gladio:

actually really good and pretending he doesn’t care that much

as in he wishes you a happy birthday but just sorta disappears after that

unlike Noct and Prompto he doesn’t give it away at all

which just annoys and angers you more that he doesn’t seem to care

it was so unlike him

after awhile that anger turns to sadness

and when seeing you randomly whilst planning he feels really bad about it

the point is to make you super happy not even a little bit sad

so he tells you he promises he hasn’t forgotten he just wants to do something for you as a surprise

and makes sure you’re perfectly okay again before leaving to continue planning the party

he’s really caring about it

he hates seeing you sad, even if he knows you’ll be happy later

especially on your birthday

when he finally reveals the surprise to you he’s overwhelmed with how genuinely happy you are

“well it wasn’t fully a surprise, but you like it, don’t you?”

“of course I do.”

sneaks away with you privately for awhile at the party

to check if you’re okay

and mainly you’re just happy that he planned the whole thing for you

and really well to be honest

Gladio “I have a freaking six pack” Amicitia is amazing at planning parties, who knew?

Ignis:

obviously is amazing at planning you a surprise party like usual

perfectly plans everything before hand to make it work out just as expected 

bakes the cake

and makes all the food

even amazing at decor because?? he’s good at everything.

he’s also really good at making excuses to why he can’t hang out with you much on your birthday

so everything is believable 

seriously, is he even bad at anything??

I thought the fuck not

you don’t suspect it at all

but he doesn’t apologise much for not being with you which is strange

considering how much of a genteman he is all of the time 

but when you ask him he still acts super busy

like Gladio, he is kinda disappointed when you seem sad that he isn’t spending much time with you or even fully wishing you happy birthday or celebrating

but he ignores it because he still wants the surprise to be perfect

when he’s ready he has the best way to invite you over

he says he wants to apologise for not spending time with you

and you expect some huge surprise

but he just says he wants you to come over to be with him

and of course you want to be with him but you assumed you’d do something bigger than that

you’d been waiting all. god damn. day.

so when you went over you seemed so disappointed

until your friends were all singing happy birthday to you as you walked in

okay but having a genius chef as your boyfriend really has its perks 

the cake is freaking amazing

everything is

his work finally paid off when he sees the huge grin on your face

that’s all he wanted

and all he worked so hard for

just to see you happy, and that’s what he saw

he’s literally a robot why is he so good at every damn thing?
