idk thinking about how sometimes you have to show up for people you aren't that close to, because sometimes you're just the person who's there. sometimes you invite a new friend to a party and end up having to sit with them through a panic attack. sometimes you run into an acquaintance on their worst day and they need to talk about what happened. sometimes someone is crying in a stairwell and you're the only one around to ask if they're okay. and none of this is "trauma dumping" or whatever the fuck it's just being there for people because you're the one in the room with them.

The more resolved your own traumas become, the more full your own life, the more stable your relationships, the less you will feel unbalanced by the needs of others, the more you will be able to turn to a stranger in a crisis and be the unexpected grace that helps them survive the moment they're in.

When you search for a title, you may not find what you need. Then all you have to do is click the handy “Can’t find the book you’re looking for?” link, and you’ll be taken straight to this page, where you will be able to help them find books to add to their database! If you can’t find that non-English book you’re looking for, help them out!

are Brand and Rune still a totally platonic relationship? I've seen some tumblr mentions of the short stories hinting at more, but I'm not sure if others interpret it the same!

Well that depends who you ask 😏

According to where we’re at in canon, pre release of Book 3 but including all the extra content, yes, Brand and Rune are strictly platonic companions.

(There was that time Rune was 13 and got drunk and kissed Brand only to get shoved into a pool and they never spoke of it again. And that time Rune let his jealousy get the best of him while at the Green Docks. And don’t forget “i think you’re a good dad.” You’re a good dad too.” And of course, the iconic, “I saw brand. And i saw brand. And i saw brand.” And— you get the point)

There’s nothing explicitly Brand/Rune in the extra content-unless you count the co-parenting of all these children-but it’s got some good good hurt/comfort between most of the characters, Brand and Rune included. (We learn that Brand literally prays for Rune’s safety. I’m fine, really 😭)

Lots of us are in the OT3 bandwagon (Brand/Rune/Addam) but there’s also a good chunk of the fandom that thinks Brand/Rune is endgame. I’m the former, though I respect the latter.

I totally get why people want them to stay platonic, close male relationships that aren’t sexual and/or romantic are rare and wonderful, but The Tarot Sequence is not a series that is lacking in representation for emotionally vulnerable men.
