🌊 Ukiyo (浮世)
Living in the Moment
In a world where we are constantly rushing, and planning ahead… sometimes it's good to just stop and "be"...
That’s where the Japanese concept of Ukiyo (浮世) comes in, often translated as “the floating world.”
But it’s more than a poetic philosophic phrase. It’s a way of thinking.
Ukiyo is about letting go of life's burdens for a moment and allowing yourself to drift through it. You can notice small joys, fleeting beauty, and the present moment without trying to control it.
It’s like the feeling of: ✨ Watching rain slide down a window while laying in bed ✨ Sitting in a café with no urgency ✨ Losing track of time while creating something you love
Instead of resisting life’s constant movement, Ukiyo invites you to float with it.
In traditional Japanese culture, Ukiyo also referred to a world of art, beauty, and temporary pleasures, famously captured in ukiyo-e woodblock prints. These artworks remind us that nothing lasts forever, and that’s exactly what makes each moment meaningful.
So today, this is a gentle reminder: You don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t have to rush every second. You’re allowed to pause, breathe, and simply exist.
Let yourself float for a while. 🌿
25 Love-Filled Journal Prompts for Self-Love, Friendship & Romance
February is here, the month of love, and Valentine's Day is just around the corner.
For me, Valentine's Day is a chance to celebrate everyone you truly love, whether it's romantic partners or dear friends. It's essential to express your love to them, but it's equally important to show yourself some love too. They say you need to love yourself before you can love others (I'm still working on that myself!), so be kind and treat yourself well.
With that in mind, here are this month's journal prompts to help you reflect on the important people in your life and on self-love.
⸻
What does love feel like when it’s healthy?
How do I show love to myself?
What kind of love do I want and deserve?
A moment I felt deeply cared for was…
What does self-love look like on hard days?
What qualities do I value in relationships?
How do I express affection?
What boundaries protect my heart?
Who makes me feel safe to be myself?
What kind of partner/friend am I?
What have past relationships taught me?
How can I give myself the love I seek?
What makes me feel emotionally fulfilled?
What does intimacy mean to me?
How do I handle vulnerability?
What love stories inspire me?
What kind of energy do I bring into relationships, romantic or friendship?
What am I healing in my love life?
What do I appreciate about my heart?
How do I feel about being alone?
What does romance look like beyond clichés?
How can I deepen my connections with the people around?
What makes me feel valued?
What kind of love do I want to nurture?
Write a love letter to yourself.
⸻
I hope you will like these prompts.
25 “Fresh Start” Journal Prompts to Help You Start the New Year
Though half of the month already went by, I thought it would be a good idea to do a few “new years” / “self reflection” journal prompts to motivate me and everyone for this new year.
And even though these are January/ new year journal prompts, you can use them anytime of the year. There is never a wrong time to do some self introspection and take good habits.
⸻
What does a “fresh start” mean to me this year?
What am I ready to leave behind from last year?
One habit I want to build slowly and gently is…
What does my ideal day look like right now?
What am I proud of surviving?
A word I want to guide my year is…
What kind of energy do I want to protect?
What drains me that I no longer want to tolerate?
What excites me about the year ahead?
What does success look like for me, not others?
How can I be kinder to myself this year?
What boundaries do I need to strengthen?
A small goal I can start today is…
What am I curious to explore?
What would make this year feel meaningful?
What lessons did last year teach me?
Who do I want to become by December?
What am I grateful for right now?
What fears am I ready to face?
What motivates me when things feel hard?
What routines help me feel grounded?
What am I learning about myself?
What does “growth” look like in my life?
What brings me peace?
Write a letter to yourself one year from now.
I hope you will use these prompts. if you do and post it, don’t hesitate to tag us, we will be happy to see everyone thought and goals for this year.
And it’s definitely going to be a monthly thing.

25 Fun Halloween Journal Prompts (For Spooky Season Lovers!) 👻
Though Halloween season is almost done, I thought it would be fun to give a few Halloween journal prompts (Maybe I will make it a monthly thing) to spark your ideas when journaling for fun, for self-reflection, or for art and writing
You can pick and choose a few to answer whenever inspiration strikes for the rest of October.
Now let’s get spooky 🕯️
⸻
1. What’s your favorite Halloween memory from childhood?
Describe the smells, the costumes, the candy — make it nostalgic.
2. If you could design the perfect Halloween costume with unlimited budget, what would it be?
Sketch it if you want!
3. The BEST candy in existence for Halloween is…
And why are you right? 😌
4. Write about a time you got genuinely spooked (funny or real).
5. What does Halloween feel like to you?
Cozy? Ghostly? Magical? Explain.
6. What was your most iconic trick-or-treat costume ever?
7. Describe your dream haunted house.
Scary or whimsical?
8. Pick a Halloween creature and imagine having it as a pet.
A Cerberus Dog. Three heads to pet? Yes.
9. Create your ultimate Halloween bucket list.
Movies, outings, crafts, treats…
10. What spooky books or movies define your Halloween vibe?
Curate your “Hallow-core.”
11. If you were a ghost, who would you haunt and why?
12. Write a creepy (or funny) 5-sentence horror story.
Make it short but chilling.
13. If you were a witch what would be your name and your witchy powers?
Bonus: draw your hat if you can 👒
14. Describe your ideal Halloween party.
Theme? Music? Snacks?
15. What Halloween traditions would you start if you could?
16. What’s your favorite seasonal drink and where do you get it?
17. Which fictional character would you spend Halloween with?
18. If you were cursed to live in a haunted house for a year, what’s your strategy to survive?
19. What are your top 10 horror movie tropes (good or cringe)?
20. What’s something that scares you now that didn’t when you were younger?
21. Design your own monster.
Give it weaknesses, powers, personality.
22. What would your costume be if you only had 10 minutes to prepare?
23. If Halloween had a soundtrack, what songs would be on it?
Make the playlist!
24. Do you prefer cute Halloween aesthetics or dark spooky vibes? Explain.
25. Write a letter to “Halloween You” from next year.
What advice would you give?
⸻
And for those who are not in places where you celebrate Halloween you can still use those prompts but without the context of Halloween. Personally I grew up in a place where Halloween is not a thing and now I’m in a place where they celebrate it, but there was “Mardi Gras” day and other occasions when kids could be in costume.
So you can still use most of those prompts without the context of Halloween like the first one “What’s your favorite Halloween memory from childhood?” can just be “What’s your favorite memory from childhood in which you were wearing a costume?”
⸻
🕯️ How to Use These Prompts
✔ Use them as digital planner prompts
✔ Create drawings based on your answers if you can
✔ Share the results to inspire others!
⸻
If you end up journaling any of these, post it and tag us, we would be happy to see your Halloween thoughts!
Happy journaling, witches, ghosts, and cozy goblins 🧡👻

A whale swimming in the darkness of space.
So large that the galaxies it passes through appears to be nothing more than light dust particles around him.
