On one hand i'm over eager, and on the other i'm not excited enough. I'm honestly not equipped to handle this. Can't we just get this over with so I can start building a new life? I don't know how to act / react appropriately and it tires me out, trying to figure out how people expect me to behave. I'd like to think that i'm a simple person who wants simple things - perhaps that's not true. It's getting harder by the day to live the way that I want to, and I try to remind myself every day that it's not the expectations of people that should matter, but the expectations that Allah has upon us to live rightly, to live moderately. And I feel like i'm failing on all counts. I am overwhelmed, and I am tired of this constant war I wage with myself. Silence seems to always be the answer. Deep breaths. I need to hold on to your rope firmly, for You are my only saving grace. This world and all its glitter is temporal. I'm seeking permanent ground.

Life is painful and messed up. It gets complicated at the worst of times, and sometimes you have no idea where to go or what to do. Lots of times people just let themselves get lost, dropping into a wide open, huge abyss. But that’s why we have to keep trying. It scares me. We expect patience but we run out of it. We expect mercy but we do not show it. We expect forgiveness but yet we do not forgive. We expect the world but we can't even be a responsible part of it. And by We, I mean I. May Allah SWT bless me with His patience, mercy, and forgiveness, even when I don't deserve it. Time and time again, I know that my pride and arrogance will be my downfall.
