Rules to play Roguelikes
1-Your character is expandable and can be replaced faster than what took you to reach that point.
2-The games wants to kill you
3-It will kill you
4-Learn to not allow it kill you
5-You must pray to RNGeesus every day, and even that cannot make sure you will wim
6-Expect you will never finish any Roguelike unless it is short and easy, and even with that it doesn't love you so expect at least a few dead characters
7-Avoid death by being a coward
8-Avoid being a coward and manage to kill that stupid balrog some day
9-The next big monster will be immune to the exact attack you are using as your main
10-You can't afford to survive without certain items
11-You cannot expect you will get them constantly
12-Finally find a use for that broken items that in other games you just hoard because you think "maybe I iwill have a harsher situation next time and THEN I will need it". It won't fly here.
13-You transformed the goblin on level 1 into what?
14-Your mistakes haunt you. And with that I mean that games normally have a system where you will find the ghosts of your death characters, with the situation they had seconds before. Yep, that +3 longsword with poison damage that can confuse you is still on it's hands... oh, and that chromatic dragon too, still besides you
15-That fireball will destroy that magic item sitting besides that worm mass
16-And you got cursed, now expect not to find a remove curse scroll
17-Zap that wand
18-And you made that orc invisible
19-Wait, so that actually did work?
