Be in love with your life. Every minute of it.
Jack Kerouac (via wordsnquotes)
Piece by piece, I was reconciling the person I presented to the world with the person I really was, and I knew the process was healthy and worth the pain for me. But there was no way to deny its collateral damage.
Mike McHargue, Finding God in the Waves
I think God wants people to talk less about God
“I read the way a person might swim, to save his or her life.”

Running is starting to feel more normal again, and this super easy recovery snow run I was so thankful for!!
if someone does the “fine, you’re right, i’m clearly a terrible person, i’m satan, i’m the worst person alive, i should just die” thing in response to criticism of their harmful behavior, they are trying to manipulate ppl and flip the situation around so that they look like a victim
stop tolerating this in 2k17 tbh. like really and truly, if you or your friend thinks this is okay pls call the hotline on the bottom of the screen and learn how to take responsibility for your bad behavior
Mountains and fog mood for new years.
hi friends. at least i hope we still are. updated my blog
“You’re so quiet!” “You need to talk more.” “Why aren’t you saying anything?”
I can’t even count how many times I’ve heard these accusations. Why does quiet have to be a bad thing, something that people view as a fault? What is wrong with not speaking much? Why does quiet have to mean boring, or uninterested, or thoughtless, or like you just have nothing to say?
What is it about being quiet that makes you so vulnerable? People fill your silence with their own thoughts and words and most times they’re wrong. Quiet is misunderstood and it’s hard. It’s so hard and then that’s when being naturally quiet seems like a curse. I can’t just make myself speak. I can’t make myself say things just because people expect it. I’m sorry. I wish I could. I wish I always knew what to say, when to say it, how to say it. But I’m not that great with words, in a verbal sense.
If I have something to say, I’ll say it. But just let me be me. Let me be quiet.
Meaningless: everything, and everyone, is a vapor. Here for a few moments, and then–gone. This sobering thought can be depressing. Or it can be absolutely freeing. We can either go the way of many around us…in avoidance of the truth of our humanity. Or maybe there’s another way: we could embrace it. We could recognize our humble place in this universe; we could recognize the silliness of human arrogance and empire. And perhaps, as a result, we could learn to appreciate and fully experience the moments that we have as the gifts that they are.
