@thedrownedsoldier
are you there god? it’s me. what the actual fuck
You almost got barbecued. Least I could do is patch up your sorry ass.
“Thanks.”
He’s not so much smiling as gritting his teeth through the pain.
“What-- uh, what was that thing? Not-- not one of mine--”
“Ya saved who and what ya could. That’s all anyone can ask.” - George
“Father,” He smiles weakly. “That’s a load a’ horse shit and you know it.”
calling ur dad “my father” is just the socially acceptable way of saying “my dads a bastard and i hate him”
“Yeah, basically.”
He says this with all the affection of an animal lover.
“Hey, at least he didn’t try to bite my thumb off like some of the parrots.”
“Hey, come on!” Alex grins through the wince, and moves to toss the napkins.
“God, it’s the zoo all over again. Worked there the summer after I graduated. The tropical bird exhibit was always an adventure.”
“Thanks.”
The cockatoo is gently stowed back in his cage, and Alex moves to help clean up the mess.
“It’s fine. Birds can’t really, uh. Hold it. No hard feelings, man.” He flashes the bird a thumbs-up.
Alex-- the human-- snorts, raising his brows at the bird.
“Really, man? I thought we had a connection.” And then, to Dolly, “You, uh, got any paper towels?”
@thedrownedsoldier
Alex whistles, hopping onto Alex’s finger.
“Careful with him, Alex,” says Dolly from the door. “He’s a sensitive man. Been through a lot. No bite.”
He’s opened his mouth the promise to be careful with the bird, but then-- oh. She’s talking about him. He blinks, and turns his attention to the cockatoo.
“Hey there, pretty bird. How’s it going? Nice name.”
New project on our radar ‘grandson’ is the brainchild of Jordan Benjamin, whose known for melding genres by incorporating rock, electronica, and trap into his concoctions. New single BLOOD//WATER is a striking example of his compositional expertise, a powerful battle cry anthem exploding with fiery power and electrifying energy. Its bass hits hard, while grandson’s drawling vocals create much suspense and captivation. It’s clear BLOOD//WATER is an unforgettably vehement and riotous spectacular that defies classification. The adrenaline pumping, hard rocking banger is available from iTunes, here.
“It was not always like this, of course. On occasion it’s been worse.”
— John Gardner, Grendel
His laugh doesn’t sound very genuine.
“No offense, Father, but last I checked, my kid brother wasn’t really a giant spider-monster, deep down.”
Wet leaves still clinging to his arms, he descends the ladder.
“Jesus... Uh, sorry.”
He clears his throat, scooping up handfuls of rotten leaves.
“Is it... like this everywhere? Or is this town just... I don’t know, cursed or something.”
“The, uh-- the old man? He’s...”
Makes sense, Alex supposes. Of course the place is haunted-- of course he’s talked to more dead people in this town than live ones.
“If I went back to Shepherd’s Glen, would they still be walking around? Like that?”
He shifts uncomfortably on the ladder, focusing on his work cleaning the gutter.
“Not like... Uh, you’re still-- shaped like a person. Walking, talking. They-- weren’t.”
