Breaking the fast with a view. (at Cafe Loka)
"One fine day, it'll be your turn. You will leave homes, cities and countries to pursue grander ambitions. You will leave friends, lovers and possibilities for the chance to roam the world and make deeper connections. You will defy your fear of change, hold your head high and do what you once thought was unthinkable: walk away. And it will be scary. At first. But what i hope you'll find in the end is that in leaving, you don't just find love, adventure or freedom. More than anything, you find you."
Day 2 "Tokyo Disneyland 2014 : Christmas Fantasy"
I know. Other than the uber cheesy title, this post is way long overdue.
Getting to Disneyland was a no sweat; If you're Japanese.
Apparently, I was fetched (& scolded for being late, if I may add) like a kid since I know nothing about trains and transit. 헐 ㅋㅋ
I digress, すまない Going to Disneyland make your way bound to the nearest station. One must ride in transit to JR Line and head to Chiba (Maihama station). The whole spin would take you (more or less) 30-45 minutes if you're coming from Asakusa.
Who am I kidding, What do I know, just use Google map. Its way reliable than what's my say.
Feed your eyes with the most breath-taking visuals right at "the Happiest Place on Earth". You know what they say,
Disneyland: It's the closest thing we have to magic :)
#YourWelcome
Obligatory group photo shot. Tourist mode is now O~oownnn!!
The Cinderella Castle. Wherever you may be in every nook and cranny of this theme park, it'd be impossible to overlook this huge fortress guarded by the most gallant mouse and some fairy dust. Like Srsly~
Those eyelashes, I dig! <3
"Find that Tigger". I'm pretty much head-over-heels over those black and orange stripes since I was a kid. I love that he was so gay about life and how he introduces his name: T-I-double 'guh' <3 <3 <3
Hi my name is K-Y-double 'muh'
Caught this couple with matching Mickey head gears. Couple shot ála Tricia G's style.
We were having a whale of a time, until Space Mountain.
I was told that this ride would toast the chicken shnitzel out of you. Its the closest thing you could imagine when Dementors are nearby or when the Nazgûl is upon thee.
Basically, it sucks the life out of you.
As first-timers, Motoki and I were in a fey mood knowing this jet-coaster would be a rough one. Needless to say, it could end our lives. Remember Final Destination 3?
At the time, Shizuka was amped up with too much excitement. Just look at that grin. I can’t even. I, on the other hand is on the cusp of crying. That is me faking a smile BTW.
Fake it till you make it girl, Fake it. haha!
Taking pictures was prohibited inside so I couldn't really show here the fair amount of trauma we had to endure. (although, I've managed to take a photo haha)
Omo! omo, we got some badass over here lol
Trying it once in a lifetime is adequately enough. This ride just milked the living daylights out of me. Figuratively and in a literal sense.
A must try nonetheless. #sarcasmFTW

And of course who couldn't forget,

"The cold never bothered me anyway", says no one ever in Tokyo.
I never get the hype over the most reputable bread in Japan; Melon pan メロンパン (Melon Bread). After 38 years, I have finally got to try.
One word to describe it?
Nirvana-in-a-dough. Try one and it could be the sole reason why you're coming back to Japan.
"If you can dream it, you can do it" - Walt Disney
This post is becoming too lengthy so ill end it with what Walt Disney would use to say;
"I only hope we don't lose sight of one thing -- that it was all started by a mouse" (Doesn't make any sense, I know:P)
じゃあね
© Motoki and Shizuka for the tangible memories and for bringing me back the joy & happiness as a child. This trip was definitely one for the books:P
Sunny afternoon whilst strolling on this art exhibit. Most of the paintings were still Untitled. Maybe because their beaut was "beyond description" lol all puns intended. #notsopunny #VSCOcam

The Hardest Part Of Traveling No One Talks About
You see the world, try new things, meet new people, fall in love, visit amazing places, learn about other cultures – then it’s all over. People always talk about leaving, but what about coming home?
We talk about the hard parts while we’re away – finding jobs, making real friends, staying safe, learning social norms, misreading people you think you can trust – but these are all parts you get through. All of these lows are erased by the complete highs you experience. The goodbyes are difficult but you know they are coming, especially when you take the final step of purchasing your plane ticket home. All of these sad goodbyes are bolstered by the reunion with your family and friends you have pictured in your head since leaving in the first place.
Then you return home, have your reunions, spend your first two weeks meeting with family and friends, catch up, tell stories, reminisce, etc. You’re Hollywood for the first few weeks back and it’s all new and exciting. And then it all just…goes away. Everyone gets used to you being home, you’re not the new shiny object anymore and the questions start coming: So do you have a job yet? What’s your plan? Are you dating anyone? How does your 401k look for retirement? (Ok, a little dramatic on my part.)
But the sad part is once you’ve done your obligatory visits for being away for a year; you’re sitting in your childhood bedroom and realize nothing has changed. You’re glad everyone is happy and healthy and yes, people have gotten new jobs, boyfriends, engagements, etc., but part of you is screaming don’t you understand how much I have changed? And I don’t mean hair, weight, dress or anything else that has to do with appearance. I mean what’s going on inside of your head. The way your dreams have changed, the way you perceive people differently, the habits you’re happy you lost, the new things that are important to you. You want everyone to recognize this and you want to share and discuss it, but there’s no way to describe the way your spirit evolves when you leave everything you know behind and force yourself to use your brain in a real capacity, not on a written test in school. You know you’re thinking differently because you experience it every second of every day inside your head, but how do you communicate that to others?
You feel angry. You feel lost. You have moments where you feel like it wasn’t worth it because nothing has changed but then you feel like it’s the only thing you’ve done that is important because it changed everything. What is the solution to this side of traveling? It’s like learning a foreign language that no one around you speaks so there is no way to communicate to them how you really feel.
This is why once you’ve traveled for the first time all you want to do is leave again. They call it the travel bug, but really it’s the effort to return to a place where you are surrounded by people who speak the same language as you. Not English or Spanish or Mandarin or Portuguese, but that language where others know what it’s like to leave, change, grow, experience, learn, then go home again and feel more lost in your hometown then you did in the most foreign place you visited.
This is the hardest part about traveling, and it’s the very reason why we all run away again.

Things that I regret: Wish i recorded longer:(
Tokyo 2014 - Man With A Mission "Play What You Want Tour"
Touchdown Japan @ 13:00 pm.
I've been meaning to see Jean-Ken Johnny ever since like forever. First things first tho, I could only speak japanese superficially and I was already greeted in Japanese (long-ass phrases) at the airport.
With this, I've practised pantomiming my "I can't speak japanese" / "English Only". Although, Ive memorized my Arigatou Gozaimasu by the heart. I think that would suffice.
When asked at the immigration what would be my purpose in Japan. With compelling conviction, I would answer: "To see the live concert of Man With A Mission". In return they would give me raised eyebrows and unconvinced looks. lol.
I couldn't give a better reason. I mean, who wouldn't cross the archipelago to see werewolves rockin' out? I would.
Great sceneries on the way from Chiba to Saitama. Wish i knew the names tho.
With little time on my hands, i had to go directly to the concert Arena along with my stuff. People would probably recognize me as "that girl who dragged her noisy luggage" lol. わるい わるい!!
Half-wolf half-human hybrid. These hairy creatures were created by a mad scientist who happens to be Jimi Hendrix back in the late 19XX's.
At first, I was indifferent when I heard of them *early of 2014 thinking all of their songs would be in Japanese.
With sundry elements from punk/alternative rounded with inconspicuously deep & well-written lyrics + variation of metal/electronic sound courtesy of DJ Santa Monica, I became a fan in an instant.
Not to mention, Jean-Ken Johnny's articulation is on point, you wouldn't think they're Japanese. (or aren't they?).
They remind me so much of the bands Rage Against the Machine and Nirvana. Basically, you could say it was love at first sight sound <3 .
You can check their back story here

WARNING: The following pictures may not be suitable for all audiences. Viewer Discretion Is Advised. looool dont tell me i didnt warn ya you marshmallow-heart.
The arena was packed with over 30,000 people. Talk about hardcore fans:P
Everyone went berserk when the crowd's all time-favorite "Fly Again" and "Take What You Want" were on cue making fans simultaneously lifting their hands in unison... You'd be out of the place if you ain't in tune with the crowd:)
Personally, I was highly anticipating for their cover on Nirvana's "Smells like teen spirit". No dice! :( However, some of my personal faves were on the roster: Database, Rain of July, From Youth to Death & Evils Fall -- All's well that ends well.
Took a quick video of the live. Little did I know it was illegal to do so hahaha. Now i feel like an outlaw hahahha.
My companion for the night: Sapporo and the infamous "Makoto Hasebe". He's a famous soccer player from what i heard. Like, seriously! (`・ω・´)
Okonomiyaki . If i could take these back in the Philippines, i would.
Don't ask me why the thing on top is moving. I can't explain either.
This 2night-trip in Japan was obviously not enough so i insisted on walking around the area of Asakusa and just wander off the rest of the night.
I suck at photography. I know, i know.
Time Check: 23:06. Muuuustttt Sleep. i had an early call time the next day for Tokyo Disneyland. Woke up 2 hours on the planned meeting time. sfghfSSSHIIIITpikwnswbfwjencesrgehbthjnrj....
The great pink door where all the serious snoring happens.
The night ended quite well, despite all the running, shivering and ball-freezing temperature (Figuratively speaking; If i had some balls, damnn it would be frozen as fck), I manage to be alive somehow. haha
Highlight of the night: MWAM!! hands down 楽しかった . Till next time. 一, 二, 三 (「゚Д゚)「 GOW GOW
Next stop.... Disneyland!!!! :P

The closer you get to excellence in your life, the more friends you'll lose. People love you when you're average because it makes them comfortable. But when you pursue greatness, it makes people uncomfortable. Be prepared to lose some people on your journey.
