The word "intuitive eating" is being used incorrectly in the fitness word according to the practices taught in the actual book and technical creators of intuitive eating. People keep describing intuitive eating as what really is "smart eating" IMO. The actual book's guidelines include 1) Not restricting any foods. No food is good or bad. 2) Not letting nutritional "bro science" dictate the way you eat. Meaning you don't only pick "healthy" foods because you're paying attention to macros. 3) Not being on a diet that results in quick weight loss results. If you're going to track your macros and restrict yourself from going over a certain number, that's a type of diet called If It Fits Your Macros or Flexible Dieting. It's not intuitive eating. If you want to free yourself from constant yo-yoing or failed diets because you just couldn't handle the restictive eating, please read this book. Don't look up youtube videos that will also misinform you. I don't typically repost on instagram but this time, i audiobooked this one and don't have my own image to show for it. I recently finished the book and have starting my intuitive eating journey. Today, I have never felt more joy and relief, and seriously happy to just eat food since the 8th grade. I'll have a youtube series on this soon!
