Hello everyone

It feels like it’s been a long while since I made a post here. With the pandemic time seems to be moving at weird speeds, and obviously all games of D&D are on hold unless played over video chat (which isn’t easy).

I’ve started work on a few campaigns for when I can finally see people again, and have been finding more things for my book of homebrews.

My partners family has also considered starting a d&d game recently, which means I’d be playing again hopefully.

I hope you’re all doing well, and I really hope people can get together for games again soon. Stay safe everyone.

Hi all, long time no see.

I’ve been dealing with lots of health problems lately, and with the news of a global pandemic I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed.

I’m often times exhausted physically and mentally from my own health issues, but having almost constant notifications come through from news networks, my old school, and more, I find myself getting worn out even more.

As a result much of my writing is on complete freeze. I’m finding it hard to produce creative work on the mental energy I have.

Apologies to anyone who was wanting to see my home brewed stuff, or wanting to read anything else I was writing. They will be done, but the end point for them is now much further into the future than originally planned.

In other news, please take the time to care for your health and the health of those around you. It’s important in times like these that we as people stick together & help out where we can. If you have elderly or immunocompromised neighbors, ask them if they need any essentials from the stores and offer to get it for them. If schools in the area are closed and you’re a HS or college/university student, ask parents with small children if they need someone to look after the kids while they’re at work.

Be kind to one another, take care of your health, and as always,

Hey guys! Long time, no see... or read... or write... whatever it is, been a while!

I’ve been pretty busy with college and dealing with major health issues so I haven’t posted anything here.

Not much news honestly, other than I am not running or playing anything right now. I am though working on

THE GREAT BIG BOOK OF HOMEBREWS FOR 5E D&D

I had to make that a bit dramatic, but I’m quite excited. Some things that will be in this book are new races, classes, monsters, & even weapons/treasure.

I’m specifically making this book to give my players some more things to choose from when designing a character. Most of my campaigns are homebrews anyhow and I want my players to have fun with things they wouldn’t get to play otherwise.

Some of the classes and races were actually made by other people, but I’m adding them because I love them and want to give my players options.

The majority of the monsters/beasts are completely homebrewed by me, minus the artwork because I can’t do digital art to save my life. I’ll be trying my best to credit the artist where I can.

This “book” won’t be for sale or published anywhere. It’s literally just a google doc on my laptop for me to let my players use. If you guys want to see some of the monsters/beast I’ve homebrewed however, I’d be happy to post them here and/or send them to you to use in your own campaigns!

Also going to try and add links to the classes/races I particularly liked from other people, so look out for that in the future.

Hello everyone!

So I’m currently running a game & then playing in another.

From a previous post I mentioned I was playing a tiefling Sorcerer, so I wanted to use this time to talk instead about the campaign I’m running!

So far we’ve gotten through 3 sections, one of which was them receiving the quest. We’ve actually stayed on schedule with this one so far & im pretty happy about that!

Currently the party is level 7 (I started them at 5) & they will hopefully reach a high enough level to finish off the final boss (which I’m not naming yet). My goal is for their final level to be around 13-15. It’s a seven person party so I think they would be fine swinging in the lower level range, whereas with smaller groups I would want them to be 15 at the lowest.

Most of the players are new to dnd & we’ve thrown in a few home brews and house rules for the sake of making sure they’re having fun, rather then them having to abide by every rule strictly.

In the last section I felt so bad for some of my players, mostly because they were rolling Nat 1s on savings throws and ending up with their character crying or drooling. I probably allowed them to try again more than most would, but I’m a pretty soft DM when it comes to newbies. I’m not really into the whole TPK type of gaming.

•I know it’s an odd mix & a lot of race/class things that aren’t normally seen, but like I said, many are new and I want them to have fun and a bit more creative freedom. So far the party actually works super well together & despite it being an odd bunch they work super well for the campaign I wrote•

Hi all! Long time, no see!

I’ve been a bit busy since my last update. I had a play I was in, was finishing up spring semester of college, & I’m now home and playing a campaign over the summer.

My current character is a tiefling sorcerer (not pictured). I know it’s a bit of a cliche combo, but they’re super fun to play as, plus tieflings subclasses are great for making a very custom character. I’m not going to share too much on mine yet, but when I finish drawing her or find a reference photo I like, I’ll be sure to post about her.

I made plans to play Adventure League with friends this summer too and plan to make a human bard (pictured left). I wasn’t too keen on AL at first, but I said I’d try it for a session or two and see how I feel.

Have any of you played AL? Did you enjoy it, or felt it put too many limits? Was it your first DnD experience, or were you a pretty well seasoned player before trying it? Let me know!

I have a secondary character prepped for my campaign this summer in case my tiefling dies. I plan to make an aasimar character, but haven’t picked a class yet (pictured right). I’ve always wanted to play an aasimar, but I’ve always been a bit scared to I suppose.

Hello all you wonderful people!

I’ve actually been taking a break from DMing and I’ve been playing a game recently. It’s over video call since everyone else lives 5hrs away from me (rip to me because I love this group). So far we’ve had 2 sessions and they’ve both been pretty good.

Today though our DM decided to throw in a mimic. When you’ve played D&D for years and you open a door to a room filled with chest, you already know what’s about to happen. He started laughing, I started nervously laughing, & everyone in the party just screamed. It didn’t kill us, & it was actually oddly fun to deal with.

Hopefully this summer I’ll get to play in person with these folks.

I know this update isn’t super long but it’s all I have for right now.

A Quick Update

Hello all !

I realized I never really updated how the campaign finished. Hopefully I can do that in detail some time soon.

We did a small campaign, or at least tried to, but with everyone’s schedules it just never seemed to workout well. I’ll probably write it with a bit more detail and oomf to it, and save it for later.

We may be playing a one-shot for Halloween where everyone plays as some kind of monster. That’s still up in the air though, but I’ll do my best.

In November I may be getting a new, smaller group to start Curse of Strahd. I’m wanting to get people who are interested in traditional D&D because my last group wasn’t at all. They constantly wanted to change rules and would often pout when I didn’t allow them to. Now I’m all for the home brew rules and races, but we had a sorcerer who just added languages as they wished and when I told them to stop they would complain. THATS the kind of rule breaking I mean (that and metagaming).

Anyways, I hope to do a detailed update later.

Fish Herpes

Yes, you read that right. Fish herpes. Okay, so it’s not actually that it’s a curse, but I should probably back up some and explain.

In one of my last post I explained I was writing a one-shot campaign. It’s no longer a one-shot & now a full blown crazy ass campaign I’m running here at my university.

Everyone made their own characters & so far seeing them interact with each other is super fun. They’re mostly all new to the game, but being a new DM that’s not that bad.

An intro to the party real quick:

Elf Rogue (might be half-elf, tbh not sure) - Female - Nemyt

Dragonborn Paladin - Male - Daekien

Tiefling Barbarian - Male - Bjorn

High Elf Sorceress- Female - Sirene

Water Genasi Cleric - Female - Vapor

-Now back to explaining-

So here we are in our campaign, getting ready to set off on the big adventure. While they’re in the inn for the night Nemyt rolls to try and sleep with Vapor. Due to Vapors horrible people skills, she’s able to. Unfortunately there was one side effect. Since Vapor is a cleric, her god cursed Nemyt for sleeping with Vapor when Vapor was unwilling. Now Nemyt is slowing turning into a fish.

Now this all started as a joke in all honesty. They made jokes about things smelling fishy and I added it in purely as a whim. They all find it quite funny though, and it’s actually helped thicken the plot in all honestly.

Tomorrow they’ll be reaching the room with the sword, thus meeting my two favorite NPCs, Fyanmil & Iapetus.

I’m excite but also nervous because those two characters are my prized possessions & if they don’t like them I’ll be extremely sad.

Anyhow, I’ll update on the crazy adventures happening more later. Until then, happy rolling

I’m leaving the names and backgrounds up to the players, but I did roll their stats & chose the classes & races. I normally would not do this but given it’s a one-shot campaign I did so to save time & keep the players generally even in stats.

Basic Stuff

Essentially the very basic things of this blog !

Ive been playing D&D for about 7-8 years now. I’ve pretty much only ever played as a Druid, and I’ve played 3E, 3.5, & 5E.

My current game that I’ve involved in is 5E. My character is a half-elf Druid (will post about her later) & we have a 6 person party. Currently we just hit level 4, & at level 5 I plan to multiclass my character with a sorcerer (unless my character dies before we reach it, I hope she doesn’t though).

I’m also working on my first one-shot campaign. It’s called The Quest for the Flaming Sword (hints the blog name). I’ll be posting updates from the campaign here, such as when we start it and weird things that happen.

This blog will mostly be D&D stories from the campaign I’m playing in & the one in DMing.
