now that the big christian holiday of christmas is coming up: be fucking nicer to people with alcoholism. it's not funny, they're not a killjoy, it's fucking ghoulish to set someone back all the excruciating work that goes into staying sober for the vibes of your silly little get together. no they do not "like a drink, huh?" do you understand this kills people it ruins lives. get some elderflower soda or something for christ's sake, every inane alcohol joke you think of will have been told 1 million times before

PSA: if someone declines alcohol, the only correct answer is "can I offer you something else". They do not have to justify themselves to you. It doesn't matter whether they are pregnant, driving, a recovering alcoholic or whatever. It's their choice if they don't want alcohol and your duty as a host to remember to also stock something else.
