Late Night Tip

The thing I enjoyed about the late night tip was the honesty--as guarded as it might’ve been. It was me and her admitting, on some level, we felt some way about each other. Even if the feeling was purely physical, that took vulnerability. Maybe the honesty was fueled by alcohol or the mystery of the night, but it was always something palpable about that late night meet-up.

Books

When I was younger, I read books to escape reality and succumb to the fantasies of my own imagination. It was a world away from the real one. As I'm becoming older, books take on an entirely different utility. They don't necessarily answer my questions about life but they do soothe the pain of not knowing what's to come. They grant me a loose understanding of how the real world works. In short, books (and the authors responsible for their creation) develop a sort of solidarity concerning human experience. The joy, the pain, the knowing, and the unknown are all things we experience but it's nothing that didn't fret people thousands of years ago also. Books make me feel like I'm apart of something bigger, like there's a cosmic truth that we all will manifest as one whole. I think that's dope.

The Baton Rouge emcee Kevin Gates, drops his newest project By Any Means.  I've been listening to his music for about a year and a half now.  He definitely has a distinctive sound. Hopefully that helps him stand out in a very saturated trap rap/trap soul music scene. Check it out!
