i know many probably don’t care about or notice this, but i wanted to make it clear that my blog name is s a t i r e.
i do not actually believe the past was better, quite the opposite in fact. i just find it funny when i hear people wishing they could go back to the “good ol’ days”.
i think it’s fine and good to like and learn about history and play around with the aesthetics (as i do.) though, we must always remember the bad parts of history, the mistakes and crimes of our ancestors so we may never commit them again. don’t pick and choose your history, because then it is no longer history. it’s a romanticised fairy tale that silences and hurts the already oppressed voices of BIPOC, past and present.
