Not paying bills
It’s funny when I say “we definitely need another lockdown” how people are like “that would tank the economy!!!!1!!” like I give a damn. My life as an immunocompromised person matters more than the economy, so do the lives of everyone else. I survived 2008. I’d be fine.
I don’t give a fuck about the economy, about your social life, about anything but my survival and the survival of other medically fragile people. We are not a reasonable sacrifice, we are not acceptable loss. Ableism is ingrained at the very core of modern society and this pandemic has been a horrific show of it. More people died of COVID in 2021 than they did in 2020. This is simply because able bodied people got tired of living in a pandemic and started pretending it wasn’t happening.
nigga is the only racially targeted slur i can think of that’s been turned into colloquialism for people of all races to use in their everyday conversations…and yall dont think that a nonblack person who says it is antiblack & racist. lol ok. the simple fact that everyone’s so comfortable saying nigga and not some other slur goes to show that black pain, blackness in general, is open for consumption by all races
i am FULLY against the sentiment that we don’t owe anybody anything. we owe people common decency. we owe people respect if it has been given to us. we owe people apologies & explanations when we hurt them. i don’t care.
I feel like y'all wouldn't be having a mental collapse over John Mulaney if y'all were normal about celebrities, and didn't feel some weird ownership over them...Like why is his personal life YOUR problem, he's not an abuser he's not killing and torturing people, he's just like ... Going through a weird, very public divorce and y'all feel hurt (??) bc you were attached to his wife ... Who you don't know...
"I went to rehab in September, I got out in October, I moved out of my home from my ex-wife. Then in the spring I went to Los Angeles and met and started to date a wonderful woman named Olivia. I got into this relationship that's been really beautiful with someone incredible, and we're having a baby together. Olivia and this baby have helped save me from myself in this early journey out of recovery." - John Mulaney (source)
it seems like he's getting to a healthy place and him & his new partner are happy together? the fact that people are upset about this bc they feel some kind of entitlement to the romantic life of a man they've never even met is insane.
Why feel like the ex was betrayed when it’s more likely that she cut him off? She’s got a good business and isn’t financially dependent on him. His job makes him be away on tour and obviously drug addiction took a toll on the relationship. Now he’s with someone who also lives the celebrity lifestyle. Like, what’s the problem?
A lot of yall use the excuse that you dont "owe anyone loyalty" as an excuse to do foul shit and I dont like that
When someone disagrees with you online and demands you prove your point to their satisfaction by writing a complete and logically sound defense including citations, you can save a lot of time by not doing that.
Bro, I’ve known you for twelve seconds and enjoyed none of them, I’m not taking homework assignments from you.
This got a lot of responses from people pointing out that evidence is a key part of intellectual inquiry, discourse, and debate. That being able to support your beliefs is a key critical thinking skill. Which is 100% true.
Except that you don’t actually have to participate in intellectual discourse any time some fucko on the Internet tells you to.
There’s a vast difference between “this is an important thing to be able to do,” and “this is a thing that you must be continuously available to perform in public for any stranger who asks.”
“The police don’t target black people,” says the white person.
“LGBTQ+ people have plenty of protection,” says the straight, cisgender person.
“Women don’t feel harassed at work,” says the man.
“Poor people don’t need more government help,” says the rich person.
“Immigrants feel welcome here,” says the natural-born citizen.
Please stop invalidating the concerns of people who have problems that you’re not experiencing. Instead, listen to them, and learn what you can do to help.
i don’t think the issue is that people lack critical reading or analytical skills, because folks be analyzing shit all over the place, it’s just that they’re stupid
Longbeachgriffy really not funny. That nigga reuses the same transphobic, misogynistic jokes.
Me: wow I’m way too attached to fictional characters
Me: *sees y’all send death threats to writers because you didn’t agree with their decisions*
Me: never mind I’m attached the healthy amount
Shaggy & Outkast (2002)
You guys realize commenting on something isn't cancelling it right. So wild for people to go "oh my god y'all so sensitive you wanna cancel everything" just cause one person said huh that's crazy out loud.
Ignoring what I say entirely is one thing but to hear the same shit from someone else and suddenly acknowledge that it's good advice is annoying. You came to me for help/ideas only to brush me off and act like I haven't been telling you the same shit you just heard from a random.
the funniest thing about people making impassioned pleas for their God Given Right to use x slur is its like… u can literally just say it lol like in real life you can just say a slur n usually th only consequence will be that you hurt someone who trusted you. go for it babes
yes! you too can be the lucky soul to turn a conversational partners blood to ice as they grapple their twin emotions of fear and betrayal, for the low low cost of them silently distancing themself from you!
You can also say it can get dog walked and stomped out the possibilities are endless.

I’m sorry but if a white person says the n word around me that’s an ass whooping. Not distancing.
pandemic or not why do y’all get so close to people in line at the store
