Hands are still the most challenging part to paint.
Looking for great reads in a used-book store is much like befriending someone. You've to make an effort to get something from it; dig deep to know the stories it possesses. It may not have the convenience of organized catalogs that commercial bookstores offer...most cases the great stories hide in the tightest nooks but that's the fun of it. One's search is one's own unique experience. The books themselves aren't just papers containing wonderfully written stories. Every piece has its own tale with the people who previously owned it. And that, to me, is beautiful. This great find is the true story of one woman's incredible courage—the life's work of Dian Fossey, Naturalist, Conservationist, Champion of the Mountain Gorillas.
Don't ever leave me alone in a bookstore on payday. It's so beautiful I almost want to cry. The most expensive book in my collection, also my very first art book so it's a milestone that needs to be celebrated.
Detail. I enjoyed this more than I expected. Can't wait to wear this to bookstores.
You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. — S.P
Still a WIP, only tried it on to check on the placement. I'm happy with how this is going right now. I will have to wait til the paint dries so I can work on tiny details. Goodness, I miss t-shirt painting.
The contempt in her lips and the indignation in her eyes say it all. She is a force to reckon with. 🐈

Artwork vs Reference photo A photo of my mother when she was around 4 years old. Looking like a character from an E.B. White novel. It was pure happiness painting her in this style, although the palette says otherwise. It's funny how we didn't get along (to put it mildly) back when I was still a stubborn, rebellious teen; but now, she's my favorite muse. Her old photo albums are a goldmine of inspirations. P.S. The book is on chapter 60 since she's turning 60 this year. This carefree little girl is turning into a fabulous 60-year old, strong woman. I can only hope I've captured her sweetness in this painting and immortalized her childhood innocence. I love you, mama.💋

Do you sell prints of your work? I LOVE your Frida complex and I'd like to buy a print. Thanks!
I don't. Sorry. But only because I don't have a good quality picture of my Frida painting. And I live in a small town where there're no printing businesses which specialize in art prints.
"Torn between wanting to keep a social life and needing to work on my magnum opus", says the whiny millennial. Into the the archive of WIPs, you go.
Trying out something slightly different from my usual process. I'm at my most artistically productive when it's way past midnight; when it feels like the rest of the world is asleep and as if inanimate objects are coming to life after a long stiff day and that I'm the only one awake to witness that magic. *The Nutcracker playing in the background with sprites creeping in to do my laundry.
