the feminine urge to place my head

in the oven and light the gas

habitually revisiting old wounds

until this floating feeling subsides

as the salt water reaches my lungs

i relax with quiet approval

let me drift

become one with the earth, i would

rather drown in despondency

than pick at the childhood scabs

still freckling my shins

i would rather lose my mind

than allow the furious occupation

no one and nothing can hurt me

unless i will it so

where i grow

untouch, soft electrics of

brushing just over skin, you

which colors me where
