Speaking of, Older Korra! She actually got to spend years with Asami potentially hooray!

I dig this Nausicaa-inspired version of the series, curious where it goes.

Also, the show is getting a full 26 episode season, rather than around ten like with Legend of Korra that's... surprising.

I will freely admit to not liking Korra (show or character) that much but way too many people are taking it at face value that she caused whatever disaster broke the world. It's clearly either a red herring or she was trying to prevent a bigger disaster.

Yeah, it seems pretty clear she potentially died trying to prevent something worse happening or something, and the plot involves Pavi learning the truth rather than the common perception that Korra was a villain.

Very early on in the story planning stages, Avatar was supposed to be more sci-fi, and Aang was a member of a long lost super advanced civilization.

In the trailer it looks to me like the advanced steam punk technology from Korra's time was likely lost in some sort of world-scale disaster, and the Avatar hasn't been seen in multiple generations. There's still some tech like motorcycles and hoverboards, but who knows how much more survived/has been reverse engineered over the years.

One of my partners is curious if there is good eyewear to protect against the smoke/bad air? One that would be safe to wear while driving ideally or on the go.

The only things I'm aware of are full-face respirators and specialized goggles that cost ~$60-100 at the cheapest. It's gonna be an investment to be prepared for this. Cheaper options don't have the anti-fog coatings that you need to not be blinded by vapors and smoke that sticks to them when they condense.

N95s help bigtime with particulate from smoke, but if you're in the thick of the wildfire, you need specialized P100 equipment. Specifically this:

These cartridges include both a P100-rated filter and carbon-based compounds that absorb the volatile gases released when swaths of live forest (and the human-made stuff inside the woods like houses and cars) burn. The longer you have to be out or the closer you are, the more you need this specific protection.
