When I was a kid I lived up the road from a place called the Brookdale Lodge. It was build almost a hundred years ago and ended up being popular with mafia families in the 50s. Their dining room has a natural creek that runs through the middle of it but at some point a little girl was playing in it before restaurant hours and fell into it, got knocked unconscious, and drowned. Now she runs around the dining room and lobby. The pool also has a mermaid room beneath it and people say you can hear a girl that drowned in it splashing and playing there, even when there's no one in the pool. One of the hotel rooms was also known to be haunted, to the point that you had to sign a health waiver to stay in it and only ghost hunters and the like ever stayed there. Since then some middle eastern dude bought it, tried to revamp it, and ended up burning part of it down for insurance money. Now there's supposedly people who are going to do a good job of revamping the place owning it, but no psychics/etc have ever been able to get rid of the ghosts. I hope they leave the dining room as is because it looks really nice even if it is haunted. http://www.hauntedbay.com/features/BrookdaleLodge.shtml

Devil's Island - Haunted Paranormal Documentary Devil's Island has quite a rich and interesting history. Originally, it was called Rous' Island after the original owner, Capt. John Rous. Later the name was changed to Wood Island, but after a fire destroyed all the trees, it was named Deville's (or Devall's) Island, which became anglicized to "Devil's Island". However, some will tell you the name "Devil" actually came about from an experience one of the island residents had while near the island in a boat. He claimed a halibut came out of the water and spoke to him, claiming to be the devil. I should interject here to say this was after a party so this account is not that reliable. The man was found drowned in the boat and to my knowledge was alone at the time, so how could anyone know there was a talking halibut if there were no witnesses? A good question, indeed. In 1830, approximately 20 families lived on the island. Personally, I find this hard to believe as the island does not look large enough to hold that many people. This is only a reported number. I have no facts to substantiate it. They had a school, general store and eventually 2 lighthouses. The island was inhabited until WWII, when most residents moved to the mainland. The last resident left in the late 1990's. Today the island is owned by Mr. Bill Mont. The second lighthouse was actually built in 1877 and at one time a rescue lifeboat station was in operation (until the 1950's) to save stranded vessels in the harbour. There are 3 known shipwrecks directly offshore. There have been many reports over the years of unexplained phenomenon occurring on the island. In a house that is no longer standing there, there were mystery knocks, moving objects, voices, foul odors and apparitions. In the one house that still stands, there have been reports of lights appearing in the windows. There is no electricity on the island. Today, there is one abandoned house and a lighthouse, and a smaller broken down shed.

1980 Rendlesham forest incident. http://www.therendleshamforestincident.com/Halt_Memo_and_Tape.html UFO's observed by multiple witnesses on multiple days, and confirmed on radar over U.S. Air Force base in cold war United Kingdom. U.S. Airforce Lt. Col. and a Master Sergeant among those that witness UFO's directly over head shine a white laser like beam down at their feet, and into a weapons storage area containing nuclear munitions. There is fuckery involved in this incident as some of the enlisted men have made some pretty crazy claims over the years, and there were nukes involved that "weren't" supposed to be there, as I believe the U.S. had a covert agreement with the U.K. government to store them, but the U.K. government kept that deal hidden from their citizens. Link provided shows memo and has a link to a tape recording the Lt. Col. made during the conduct of the event.

āThe Descentā (2005) Review:
Written and directed by Neil Marshall, The Descent is a 2005, 100 minute long, British horror film.Ā To start, Iād like to say that there are huge pros and cons in this film. The (roughly) first half of the film was great, and built a lot of suspension. The lack of a backing track, mixed with the camera angles and setting, created a dreaded feeling of claustrophobia. Iām not even claustrophobic and it made me a tad uneasy at times. A couple of the actors were good, however, the majority of the acting was terrible. Another thing that bugged me was the lack of visible injuries, for example, one girl hits a rock pretty damn hard in one scene, and comes back up with zero injuries or blood. A continuity error in the final moments of the film also bothered me, but I canāt describe it without spoiling the move for you. However, the biggest let down for me was when theĀ āhorrorā was revealed, and by that I mean the thing thatās creating the suspense (example: Paranormal Activity built great suspense, but when they revealed the demon taking full control over the main character and continued to try and scare the audience, it was hard, as the audience was completely revealed to the fear). As you can guess, there are scary creatures involved in this film, and about halfway through, they are completely revealed and a lot of the suspense is lost, which is such a shame as Marshall built some great suspense earlier on. Predictability rating: 7/10 Overall rating: 7/10
