i feel like there is a sleep in me that needs to be slept but each time i sleep i don't sleep that sleep
If you ever feel like you donāt matter just know thereās a tumblr mutual who thinks about you when they hear a certain band, see a certain color, show, book, or even just see a post that reminds them of something you might like even though theyāre across the world from you
Was talking to a coworker today who explained that her grandfather was like Snow White ābut Californian. And an old man.ā in that the creatures of the forest would follow him around and presumably duet with him.
āWhen he died the ravens sat in the trees outside for a week, watching. Taking turns. A horde of raccoons tried to break into the house every night, tearing at the siding. Eventually they gave up, but it was unsettling.ā
āAww. They were checking on him!ā I said, like a normal person. Internally, I thought āMaybe you could do the thing you do with dead pets, where you show them to the living pets so the living pet understands theyāre gone. But I guess if you did that to a bunch of scavenging species, theyād be like āWell, thatās very sad but he IS food now.ā So what youād need, for human sensibilities, is some sort of transparent corpse barrier. Like a see-through coffin oh thatās what the dwarves were doing! Youāve stopped paying attention to this conversation about the loss of a beloved family member you gotta phase back in.ā
oh that's what the dwarves were doing
"grackle" really is a perfect name for a bird. knocked it out of the park w/ that one
Damn. That really is a grackle.
Am I too late to join this trend

I think Iām literally never gonna be sick of this masterpiece. I think watching it on a loop for eight hours could fix me. Dancingās what clears my soul. Dancingās what makes me whole.
I just love that this very video is an accumulation of thousands of years worth of art made by people who have never met each other. The concept of this video was so completely unfathomable to every single artist who made the sculptures and yet theyāve all put something toward the creation of it.
ITS BACK ON MY TIMELINE
my latest cartoon for New Scientist.
Iām paying to force seven thousand strangers to see a photo of my late husband having fun with his dog. Tumblr Blaze is totally worth it. XD
Thank-you to all of my new Internet stranger friends for being so gracious about having my post shoved onto your dashboards. I loved reading all of your kind tags and comments! Both Martin and Bosco have been gone for several years now but for 24 hours, they felt very present in my life. I greatly appreciate this gift. ā¤ļø
Reblog to have your dashboard be visited by the spirit of joy that death can end but not erase.
Thank you to everyone who commented in their tags or messaged me. Indeed, today is āMartin and Bosco Dayā. I originally whimsically blazed this photo on 13 July 2022. I never expected Martin and Bosco to travel so far and make so many new friends. The experience has been such a gift for me.
[ID: A photo of a man and dog at a water park on a sunny day. The man is barefoot, wears a red shirt and glasses, and is ducking down (so you can see the top of his head and only a slice of his face) as he runs through a series of arches in blue, yellow, red, and green. A leashed black dog with golden coloring on back legs and at the ruff of the neck runs at the manās side. The arches spray jets of water, hitting the man and dog from nine angles around a three-quarters semi-circle. Both are soaked. The dogās face is turned outward and up, appearing to bite at the water. /end ID]
hey did I ever post the best business card Iāve ever been given by a customer?
a woman wanted me to let her know if I had a particular item in storage, and she went to get a card out of her purse and went āoh no. Iām out of my work cards, Iām so sorry about thisā and handed me this:
apparently her husband made them for her as a joke but then she just had like 300 of them so theyāre her backups when she runs out of her real business cards.

more benches in museums
the benches need to have backs!
and, look, Iām not complaining, not at all, but this is why itās very important to be abundantly clear and specific with your Etsy witch.
