"teens are prone to tantrums and are emotionally unstable" - okay, yeah, puberty is real, and emotional regulation is a difficult skill to learn. but also. any adult person would be pissed if their opinions were disregarded, they had no say in what happens to them, their emotions and feelings were downplayed and their privacy were intruded on.

#therapy making sense hugely here #teens are emotionally unstable because they’re learning to set boundaries and understand their needs #pretty hard to do when your needs and emotions get down played or shut down or ignored completely #sometimes teenagers are justified in their crashouts

Ripley (my parrot) says "you're silly" a lot because I say it to him a lot. But he also participates in both sides of this exchange: "you're silly" "no YOU'RE silly" "we're silly." Lately he has just been cutting to the chase and thoughtfully remarking "we're silly" over breakfast.
