Replacing “LGBT” with “Queers” was a mistake, allowing academic use of the word Queer was a mistake, and allowing corporate use of the word Queer was a gigantic fucking mistake

queer as a community descriptor has been used by the community since at least the 70s decades before lgbt was even thought of.

and the use of it in acadmia preceded the invention of “lgbt” or “glbt” by at least 6 years.

and no one “allows” the corporate use of queer. activists have been protesting this sort of use forever im just. please i beg interact with the community in real life not on tumblr
