How do you think Dess and Susie would have gotten along if Dess hadn't gone missing or Susie had moved to Hometown before Dess's disappearance? The way they're set up to be foils of each other, I feel like either they'd get along really well or butt heads constantly, with no in-between. As a corollary, could meeting Susie help Dess keep some hope in her (since losing all hope seems to be tied to the reason for why she disappeared)?

Susie would probably initially be resentful of Dess for a lot of the same class reasons she resented Kris at first, but once she sees Dess smoking weed and smashing shit and being a general menace to society they (and Kris) would become unstoppable terrors upon Hometown. The true Dark $!$? Squad, basically. that's what I think
