I’ve written a christmas one-shot about Narnia and the Golden Age. It’s in Polish, but enjoy “character card”.

“Peter did not feel very brave; indeed, he felt he was going to be sick. But that made no difference to what he had to do”

Inspired by a post @lasaraleen made
What the writers see: The Isle of the Lost, home of the most wicked villians and their children dressed in awesome clothes that mess around all day and cause mischief.
What the fandom sees: An Island ridden with poverty, disease, and famine which unfairly traps the innocent children of villians with their parents who are pretty much guaranteed to practice atrocities such as physical/emotional abuse, neglect, alcoholism, etc along with a bunch of other low lifes who deal with drugs, gang violence, rape, public humiliation, and an overbearing mentality that positive emotion = weakness.
What the writers see: Auradon, the perfect world of the good guys, where all is good and just.
What the fandom sees: A whole lot of privileged country club teens who never learned how to work for what they earn and who take for granted the royalty they are blessed with. They discriminate against villain kids and don’t even bother to think about what life could have been like for them.
Me: Disney, you have dug yourself into a hole you are resistant and unwilling to climb out of.
Hades @ Fandom
I mean, the villains (including Hades) all definitely deserve to be in jail/a rehab facility/whatever correctional facility you feel is best, but THE ISLE IS NOT BEST BY *ANY* ETHICAL METRIC.
I will never understand how someone can finish a book, like it and then just go on living. I have to go look for all of the fan art and fanfiction that has ever been published. Do deep character analysis, see what other people think of it, and basically just scroll down the book’s tumblr tag for HOURS looking at everything that’s already been discussed about it then imerse myself in the fandom so much it will consume my every thought for at least the coming week.
Okay so like I just re-watched The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe AND LIKE.
I Completely forgot that all the kids lived for YEARS in Narnia, literally grew up there. And then one day they just end up in the real world and they’re kids again! Do you know messed up that is??? like??? Did Peter’s brain stay the same as a grown mans??? Did Lucy’s? Did Susan’s or Edmunds? Did they adapt back to the real world or was it hard? did they continue thinking like a adults?? Like Kings And Queens? Did they find joy in childish things like playing with dolls or sports anymore? Did they think it was all some long, weird dream??? I have so many questions.

Wow more was added to this post and it actually made me cry, good job. 💜
There’s more.
I’m crying.
Holy shit.
This whole entire post made me cry. It was so beautiful and so eloquent.
“The books don’t tell us what happened to Susan. She is left alive in this world at the end, having by then turned into a rather silly, conceited young woman. But there’s plenty of time for her to mend and perhaps she will get to Aslan’s country in the end… in her own way.” - C.S. Lewis
“Since it is so likely children will meet cruel enemies, let them at least have heard of brave knights and heroic courage.”
— C.S. Lewis
A version for tumblr that can be read without opening a new tab, since plenty of people would scroll past this story otherwise.
The bravest woman on Earth.
I love her. Forever reblog.
I have the utmost respect for this woman.
please reblog. reblog the way you would reblog a picture of a hot singer, a pretty girl, a tasty meal or some nice stationary. Because this will not make your blog ‘less aesthetic’ or anything. This is important, far more important than anything I’ve mentioned before.
I must admit, Jack, I thought I had you figured. But it turns out you’re a hard man to predict.
