For those that don’t know me, I hunt varmint from distances of 25-300+ yards, so the challenge of shooting a deer at those distances seemed ‘easy’, and since getting my hunting license in 2011, I envisioned taking my 1st buck with a bow. I put in the work, hunting almost every week, archery season after archery season. For my regular followers, they know that my snapchat and IG stories of my walks of shame became the norm. A couple of years ago, I shifted gears a little and let go of the idea of taking my 1st buck with a bow and hunted a season with my shotgun and then Fall of 2018 I hunted with my rifle. Well, I ended the decade taking this beautiful 8-point buck at the end of NC rifle season 2 weeks ago. I appreciate the friendship, support, and professional guidance that my guide friend, Shepard provides every time I hunt at his place. Thank you, Shepard. Not saying that I’ll be sharing every moment of my life, but I am saying the last year of my life has made me reprioritize what’s important in my life. I also feel really lucky that I’m able to spend more time traveling and hunting, which were things that I wished I did more of over the last several years.
